About Denitsa Petrova Photographer: Denitsa Petrova (b. Bulgaria) is a Bay Area based photographer, working from her studio in Sunnyvale, California. Her work explores authenticity, individuality, and human essence, capturing the radiant beauty that often goes unseen. Through carefully considered composition, color, and light, she creates art-driven portraits and stories, editorial imagery, and commercial campaigns that feel both personal and visually striking. Denitsa’s process begins with connection and conversation over coffee, ensuring each subject feels comfortable and seen before the camera comes out. Her architectural background informs her eye for space, structure, and color, allowing her to direct imagery with clarity and intention while highlighting the human story at its center. She collaborates with brands, agencies, and creatives worldwide, producing work that is bold, vibrant, and full of personality. Her personal projects continue to explore connection, color, and the essence of human stories, keeping her work fresh and inspired. Ph: Self Portrait, Hasselblad My Love “Continuing to explore my dream camera and trying to put myself like a model, as I capture humans and want to feel how it is being in front of the camera, vulnerable at one hand, but knowing my beautiful human essence on the other hand. And again @hasselblad is incredible world of magic and absolutely other feelings in my heart and stomach. I couldn’t believe it before I took it in my hands. If you are a creative photographer exploring human nature and beauty of this world, this is for you. Uncompromising pure joy! My physiologist told me once: “if change the colors in your life: like outfit you love to wear, the mug you pick up for your daily coffee, this means you change something inside yourself.” I am pink 🦩lover and you know it, but lastly with having this #hasselbladx2dii100c , I catch myself loving these colors on the photo. The Mix of all shades of blue 🧵to green 🦚 and sparkling with warm orange 🍊. What do you think? And no editing again. RAW Files.

Leeonnista (Liana) Habitat Part 1 This shoot was meant to be editorial, but the pieces from the designer did not arrive on time. I decided not to wait and to move forward with a raw story about Leeonnista. You don’t see her like this, unprepared, not for show. We met in a garage, in a gray jacket and sweatpants, without pretension or barriers. Some spaces are not just places to live, they feel alive. Her home carries her presence in every detail, in the walls filled with her art. One day spent with her brought me closer to what matters most, a human story seen honestly. #hasselbladx2dii100c #editorialphotography #visualstorytelling #portraitart #authenticity

No one asked me to photograph this. Not for cotton brands. Not for @hm . Not for @levis , neither @gap & @cottoncommunity This project was created out of love: for natural materials, for texture, for what breathes. I’ve always been deeply passionate about cotton, its softness, its honesty, its quiet presence. And when I met @leeonnista , her hair immediately reminded me of cotton: airy, light, almost weightless. @leeonnista loves her hair as much as I do. So I ordered raw cotton bundles, and together we created this project. Not as a commission, but as a cultural gesture. A dialogue between hair and cotton. Between the body and nature. I know this work belongs in the windows of brands that value natural fibers and conscious design. What do you think? . . . #fineartphotography #editorialportrait #cotton #naturalmaterials #hasselbladmasters2026

My love: hand painted backdrops. This photograph who sell me this was shooting boxers on a plane on that beauty. Can you imagine! I wish I could see those pictures from 30 years ago. It’s probably on film. #edenitsa #brandingphotographer #storytelling #handpaintedbackdrops #sunnyvalephotographer

Working from home is not always easy for someone like me who lives through connection, people, and real human energy. Creating images may happen in my studio, but inspiration comes from emotion, conversation, and the feeling of being truly seen. Luckily, I have daily support from my two little muses 🐈🐈 delivering calm, warmth, and high vibrations in the most beautiful colors. My kids still can’t forgive me for not adopting black cats 🐈‍⬛ but color has always been part of how I see and feel the world. It shapes my photography, my space, and the stories I create. #eDenitsa #DenitsaPetrova #AuthenticConnection #ColorAndLight #studiolife

My daughter asked me : Mom, what is your biggest achievement is this life? I was thinking so long, even maybe for several days. And today I realized: Being a mother, that’s it ! #mothersday

Recently, a mother wrote to me that she realizes her daughter will soon spread her wings and create her own world. The process of separation has been difficult for them both, and she wanted to preserve this moment of closeness before life changes. That is why photographs matter. Special thank you to my client: @liubovzdzhanskaia DM me for details. #MothersDayGift #BayAreaPhotographer #FineArtPortrait #motherdaughterphotoshoot #edenitsa

Today we shot an editorial with Kellie . Last time everything fell apart on the other side, but we still made it happen. My approach is always to play, enjoy the process, and bring out the real essence of the person. The greens were too vivid, so I softened them with chiffon to create a quieter background. I love placing people on the ground with closed eyes, letting them fully relax into the frame. Most of these images live in my head days before the shoot, but the most important part is always to enjoy the process. April 2024, Redwood City, California Some things need time to settle, and then they become more valuable. This session is exactly about that. Now I feel it’s the right moment for it.There is a strong sense of taste in this family. They are artists, sculptors, very sensitive to form, clothing, textures, and space. You can feel it in everything, how they dress, how they move, how they exist together. When I photographed them, I was just filled with love. I didn’t need to direct much. There is a beautiful way of working with textures and fabrics, their sense of style is very natural and refined. You just want to keep looking. I just simply fall in love with a family and the way they are. If you feel there is more to you than what is usually seen, I create images that reveal it. My value is in seeing you deeper than you see yourself. My work is about human essence, not just how you look #familyphotography #editorialfamily #humanconnection #artportrait #edenitsa

I didn’t take her to a coffee shop. I built one for her. Sophia is a UX/UI designer, freelancer, always working from cozy spaces. So I created that feeling at home. One backdrop, plants everywhere, soft light, круг за кръг. Table, chairs, even the layout under my feet follows the same shape. Everything intentional. I don’t copy locations. I translate people. Before every shoot there is conversation, energy, trust. Then I build a space that feels like them, not just looks good on camera. My background in architecture helps me see structure, light, balance. But the real work starts from inside and becomes something real. This is how I create a coffee shop setup without a coffee shop. Save this if you want your space to tell your story, not just decorate it. #brandingphotographer

They spent two years pretending to be a couple for shoots. At first, it was just a job, a performance, a set of poses. And then, somewhere between the frames, it became real. Today, there is no performance. Only silence, trust, and the way they simply exist next to one another. Intimacy cannot be staged. It can only be felt. For me, photography has never been about «images». It’s about the meeting. About what happens when we stop trying to look a certain way and just stay with ourselves. I like to strip everything back, the noise, the defenses, the expectations, until only the truth is left. I care less about how someone looks and more about what they carry inside, their stillness, their truth. In that moment of quiet, something real appears. Underneath it all, we are just skin, fabric, and breath. Thank you @mica.dee123 @log1_wan_kenob1 #intimacyproject #slowstorytelling #tactilephotography #consciousvisuals #edenitsa
