What a treat to shoot with Mr. George Brown, founding member of @KoolAndTheGang this past week. When we first connected over the phone, we talked about the derivation of music, his wife, my heritage, and whether or not I like Cardi B. (I don’t) At his studio, a portion of his incredible memorabilia collection lines the walls from floor to ceiling. I asked him which piece had the best memories attached and he so aptly responded that of course they were all special in their own way, but that each moment of success is so fleeting that he stopped measuring success that way. The milestones of life are the ones you take with you — your children, your experiences, your travels and so on. Those are the moments that stay and that shape you. In between shots we talked about our favorite crystals and astrology. Then we stopped and he showed me this small prayer card that was given to him by monks after they blessed it when he recorded them for a series of chants. He now keeps it over the doorway of his studio to keep the energy of the studio at a high vibration. I could talk to George for hours. He’s one of the most interesting men I’ve ever had the pleasure of speaking with. I hope you like our shots.

Fashion capitals are not built overnight. They are built through vision — through people willing to preserve craftsmanship while pushing culture forward. At @theswanhousebeverlyhills in Beverly Hills, that vision is taking shape one designer, one client, and one experience at a time. Founders Tony Ferreira and Gant Griffis are not simply opening doors to luxury — they are reopening a chapter in Beverly Hills fashion history. From rare couture houses to emerging international designers, their philosophy is rooted in distinction — offering pieces that feel as unique as the individuals who wear them. Our April cover celebrates that movement through couture from @nicholasoakwellcoutureofficial , @phanhuy.official , and archival @prada , paired with extraordinary natural diamond jewelry from @martinkatzjewels , @sylvacie , and @steferejewelry . Because when vision leads, culture follows. And Beverly Hills is ready for its next era. Luxury was never meant to feel rushed. It was meant to feel personal — thoughtful conversations, private fittings, and pieces chosen with intention rather than impulse. At @theswanhousebeverlyhills in Beverly Hills, that philosophy is not nostalgic — it is operational. Founders Tony Ferreira and Gant Griffis have built a space where luxury returns to its original purpose: service, expertise, and the art of knowing the client. Here, couture is not simply purchased — it is curated. Sleeves adjusted. Necklines refined. Jewelry selected not just for beauty, but for permanence. Our April cover reflects that experience through couture from @nicholasoakwellcoutureofficial , @phanhuy.official , and archival @prada , paired with extraordinary natural diamond jewelry from @martinkatzjewels , @sylvacie , and @steferejewelry . Because true luxury is not about speed. It is about intention. There was a time when Beverly Hills defined how the world experienced luxury — when fashion felt personal, rare, and worth the moment. This April, Los Angeles Inquisitor spotlights a return to that philosophy. Inside @theswanhousebeverlyhills on Canon Drive, founders @tonypersonalshop and Gant Griffis are reshaping what luxury looks and feels like in Beverly Hills — restoring the intimacy, craftsmanship, and individuality that once defined the city’s fashion identity. Not mass-produced moments. Not predictable selections. But couture chosen with intention — pieces meant to be remembered, not repeated. Our April cover captures that revival through couture from Nicholas Oakwell Couture, Phan Huy, and archival Prada, paired with extraordinary natural diamond jewelry from Martin Katz, Sylva & Cie., and Stefere — each piece reflecting a belief that true luxury begins with distinction. Because Beverly Hills was never built on sameness. It was built on vision. And now, that vision is returning. 5 • It’s been nearly five months since my dad left. Well, since he died. No need to dress death in polite language and euphemism. It’s never been one for manners and social grace. When I watched him die, I didn’t realize that I was also watching a part of myself die too. That part took a minute to understand. But that’s alright. The strange thing about death is that sometimes it arrives as a kind of midwife; a doula to the version of me without my dad. My dad was a Scorpio. I’m a Scorpio moon. Anyone who understands Scorpio knows that [metaphorical] death is not foreign to us. It’s an ending that carries the quiet promise of transformation. It’s part of the rhythm, you see? Our connection ran far deeper than most people ever saw. Sometimes even deeper than we understood while we were both living inside it. Now that it’s just me left, I see it more clearly. An unspoken current between us. The kind of bond that doesn’t always rely on words. When I think of some of our most beautiful memories, they sting sharper than others… like a knife you forgot was still in your pocket. But that’s alright. It’s all the cuts that give life depth, I suppose. Scorpios understand something about death that others spend their lives fearing. It isn’t only an ending, it’s a passage. Something in me had to die that day too. And strangely… I think he would understand that better than anyone. I don’t know why five months felt more significant than six, but I imagine that for me it’s because the dust is settled, and five is what happens when life moves beyond the square. Five months. Long enough for the flowers to die, the calls to stop, the anesthesia to wear off and the magnitude of truth to settle into the bones. But I’ll see what 6 brings. ♥️

Spring beauty isn’t about changing everything — it’s about refining what works and letting skin breathe again. In this @beautygurumagazine feature, Gurus Beauty Director @joelstylst.beauty shares his expert approach to transitioning from winter to spring — beginning with lighter hydration, breathable textures, and luminous finishes that enhance the skin rather than conceal it. As colder months fade, routines naturally shift toward softness, flexibility, and comfort, allowing complexion to feel fresh, natural, and visibly alive. From complexion to eyes, lips, and hair, each product Joel recommends supports a softer, more effortless direction — one that embraces visible skin, controlled radiance, and polished simplicity. His philosophy centers on intention and restraint, choosing formulas that move with the skin and maintain structure without heaviness. The result is beauty that feels modern, wearable, and confidently refined for the season ahead. More than just a seasonal refresh, Joel’s expert recommendations highlight the importance of preparation, balance, and thoughtful application — reminding us that freshness is not created through excess, but through clarity and precision in every step. Explore Joel Sebastian’s full list of expert-recommended spring essentials now on GurusMagazine.com.
