I’m going to be posting about Drag-a-Thon for forever because it’s impossible to overstate how wild these last few days have been. Imagine being in a backstage area the size of a walk in closet, with zero air, 900 degrees, sweat pouring, a trap door hole in the ground from the dressing rooms, and 100 of your favorite drag queens/kings, celebrities, comedians, and friends all shoved in there to perform to the 100+ page meticulously planned spreadsheet you’ve worked on for months. And even RuPaul sent us a video to congratulate us on our work. Being grateful to Emma, Poison, Chloe, Cassie Nova, Alexis Campbell Starr, Amy, Tara, team Wildfang, the entire AV squad, the Darcelle crew, the volunteers, and my sweet supportive husband is the understatement of the year. My heart bursts at what we pulled off to make this statement that we should all be able to joyfully express who we are however we want. And we raised over a quarter of a million dollars for @trevorproject to help young queer kids feel loved. What a weird and wonderful life this is sometime. -Guinness World Record holder, Eden Dawn

@PAM_CUT APPRECIATION POST 💖 Had a very fun time last night getting to introduce @spaceprincejulio before his Tomorrow Theater show followed by a lovely long gossip filled dinner after. (Go watch his new HBO special Color Theories asap!) I’ve loved being part of the PAM CUT committee this year as I see them working so hard to bring incredible performers, events, summer camps, classes, and joy to Portland when we really need it. May 29 is the Cinema Unbound Awards which is both a giant party and PAM CUT’s primary fundraiser to make alllllll that stuff happen so they can keep showing up in the community. Yup, tickets are spendy. To keep doing the work they do takes a team and lets the admission prices of day to day events stay at an affordable rate. So if your wallet and lust for fun allow, come to the party of the year on May 29. Not your boring fundraiser, the food is from Gado Gado, the fashion is A+, and the nominees this year include amazing artist and filmmaker Titus Kaphar, the truly one of a kind actress and comedian Maria Bamford, and my own Dragathon bestie/Wildfang CEO Emma McIlroy. Some incredibly important weekend nature updates inspired by the final pic. First, a tiny ornamental pink pineapple @irishem333 sent me because being a producer is hard sometimes and I’m trying to propagate it in my crowded greenhouse. Then a walk with my beloved where the 🇨🇦 geese tried to pull a full on Birds sitch (sound up!) and I had to wonder if I was prepared to be as brave as Tippi Hedron (if this sentence doesn’t make sense to you Google it and enjoy the gift). Then either a nutria or a muskrat I now love followed by a bunny I now love followed by a 🍸 I now love. Going to start treating Instagram like we did in 2008. Get ready for it.

After a fall/winter hiatus FASHION IN FILM RETURNS! In two weeks….WE’VE GOT ANNIE! Yes the 1982 masterpiece that gave us iconic look after look from Daddy Warbucks hairless chic to every single thing about Miss Hannigan. This is going to be a joy-filled night and I encourage you to gather your besties, bring the little ones, and let’s all have one night we forget all the troubles of the world and just think about tomorrow, tomorrow. It clears away the cobwebs, and the sorrow ‘til there’s noneeeeeee.  Wednesday, April 8th @ 7:30pm /show/annie/ Annie: Based on the beloved Broadway musical, the 1982 film version boasts loads of tap-dance numbers and aggressively unshakeable optimism. Director John Huston delivers the classic tale of plucky orphan Annie (Aileen Quinn) navigating the ruthless reign of the gin-soaked Miss Hannigan (an unhinged and completely magnificent Carol Burnett) at a girls’ orphanage. When billionaire Oliver Warbucks’ (Albert Finney) devoted assistant Grace (a dreamy Ann Reinking), selects Annie for a holiday stay at his massive mansion, her irrepressible sunshine threatens to melt even the coldest of Depression-era hearts. But Miss Hannigan isn’t done yet, she conspires with her scheming brother, Rooster (a mustachioed Tim Curry) and his flashy lady Lily (Bernadette Peters), to cash in on the little orphan’s sudden fame. Sequined gowns, tap numbers, and enough enthusiasm to power a locomotive.

Played hooky. Wore a tube top in a heat wave. Went to a beautiful lake founded by a yogi who was also a prince. Kind of fell in love with a pelican. Dreamy day.

Turns out touching grass does, in fact, solve many things.

When your bestie who’s a fancy Netflix person says, “Do you want to get dressed up and go to our Bridgerton launch at the Egyptian Theater?” you say yes. Also the new season is so fun and the costumes are so amazing and everyone is so horny and it was very lovely to forget the hellscape for 3 hours.

In case you need one nice thing that makes you go “Awww,” my two besties and I just had ourselves a 30th anniversary weekend blowout to celebrate our friendship. It included an ICONIC 90s glamour shoot at the one and only Tom’s One Hour Photo, martinis and giant pepper shakers, aerial burlesque over dinner, macarons and thumping music in WeHo, literally smelling the roses at Huntington gardens, and so much laughter my cheeks hurt every morning. The world is very stressful, celebrate the people you love and get yourself some 90s glamour shots.
