This weekend in @volkskrantmagazine : A sneak peek behind the scenes — my photos of the creation of the new exhibition by artist duo Darwin, Sinke & Van Tongeren at @artzoomuseum Amsterdam. It all started in 2011, when Jaap Sinke got hooked on Ferry van Tongeren’s passion for art and nature. And yes — their name is a little nod to Charles Darwin himself :) Catch the full story in Volkskrant Magazine or come see it in real life at ArtZoo from June 26th #behindthescenes #artinprogress #DarwinSinkeVanTongeren #ArtZoo #Amsterdam #volkskrantmagazine

“Festival Frenzy” is my contribution to the @rijksmuseum “Document Nederland” series, offering a dive into the vibrant Dutch festival scene. This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible event organizers, enthusiastic festival-goers, and, of course, the amazing team at this iconic museum. Only 4 weeks left! Don’t miss it—open until January 12, 2025. See you there! 🎉 #FestivalFrenzy #DocumentNederland #Rijksmuseum #DutchFestivals #ArtExhibition

Starting today at the @rijksmuseum I’m proud to present my latest project FESTIVAL FRENZY. This body of work captures the vibrant energy of the massive crowds that flock to large-scale festivals across the Netherlands. These events have evolved into essential cultural epicenters for millions during the summer, where nature reserves and farmland are transformed into temporary, bustling cities. With plastic walkways, pop-up amenities, and unique currencies, the result is a fascinating yet unsettling contrast between natural landscapes and the fleeting urban environment. On display until January 12th, 2025. #festival #sonyworldphotographyawards #awakening #defcon1 #milkshakefestival #dancevalley #pinkpop #zwartecross #documentnederland #rijksmuseum

Thrilled to unveil my latest project, FESTIVAL FRENZY, @rijksmuseum 🎉 Join us from September 27th to explore this new work. This project is part of the prestigious Document Netherlands series, an annual photography commission by the Rijksmuseum that has been capturing significant social themes since 1975. Each year, a Dutch photographer is chosen to document a topical issue, and I’m honored to be this year’s photographer diving in the world of music festivals. #FestivalFrenzy #Rijksmuseum #DocumentNetherlands #Photography #ArtExhibition #dutchphotography

Nieuw boek: THE SACRIFICE ZONE van Nederlands fotograaf Eddo Hartmann.
