Thank you once again @shambalafest for giving me the dream task of tapping into my wildest imagination and cooking up artwork for my favourite festival of them all.

It is pretty surreal to see my illustrations used as a backdrop on stages hosting music legends @delesosimi The Congos @sampa_the_great@moonchildsanelly@yinyinband@edadiazofficial@florence.adooni.official@samleesong & many many others. To see drawings that came out of my brain come to life with a dancing crowd and a buzzing stage. And then to see them live in the form of so many other things. I hope that whoever caught a glimpse of any of the drawings at any point during the festival was touched with a moment of inspiration or a trigger of their own imagination.

Thank you to shambala hq crew for making us feel so welcome, and to my mural crew for pulling off a 15m wall in three days. And most of all, to friends who feel like family, and made this fifth shambala feel as special as them all.

Complex problems > Simple solutions 🌞

Dealing with the state of our planet and the way we’re mistreating it can seem like an overwhelming task - but when you think about it, the solutions are all quite simple. If only we could attempt to harmonise our routines to be more in the tune with the rhythms of nature - respecting our precious resources and using nature-inspired patterns and processes to our advantage. The birds and bees and trees and worms and shrooms, the soils and forests and corals and dunes. There’s a system already in place and every element is ready to work in harmony with each other - we just need to let it flow.
Climate action is urgent, and the solutions are all within our reach ✊

On the arrival of spring:

The swallows are here and have drawn open the curtains of spring with their arrival.
It feels as if many of us have gone through a tough winter, but as the daylight hours extend so does the light inside us.
Modern city life and its culture of convenience has detached us further and further away from the planet’s rhythms. It’s like we forget every winter, that we are a part of the seasons too.
When we die we’ll eventually be turned to dust, and through that dust seeds will germinate and turn into life again. The universal law of nature: death and rebirth.
