Now in 2026, they become one: the ECHOLOT Ecosystem — completed by LOTinPublication a a tenth format First Ideas are being born & tried out in OPENLOT and LOTLab. They grow and ripe in MOSAÏQUE and LOTResidency. They resonate in TECHNOLOT and LOTinConcert with live audiance They become visible fruits in [FUTURE] TERRITORIES and the [AR]TWALKs. They are reflected and harvested in LOTinContext and LOTinPublication. One cycle. Ten formats. Connected by a two-year research topic: „Remembering the Future“. What you don’t always see 👀 Behind every event, every reset, every open door, there’s a team, a community, a lot of care – and a lot of meetings. 160 hours of collective thinking. 112 events. 600+ artists. Countless shared thoughts, late night sessions & tricky solutions. Das LOT is not just a space – it’s the people who carry it, question it, shape it and keep it alive. This video is for everyone behind the scenes, on stage, at the door, in the audience, in the middle of the poetic chaos. Thank you for making 2025 what it was. 2026 – we’re ready (almost). ✨ Which was your favorite moment 2025?

2025 is coming to a close, and what a year it was for Generation Noir! 22 shows, 49 bands/artists from 21 different countries, 3 continents, and countless genres visited us in 6 different venues in Vienna. Sweaty and unforgettable evenings, good times. We started the first half of the year strong with some of our most well-attended shows ever and many sold-out nights. The second half was a bit more difficult, as some of the line-ups didn't draw the crowd we needed to break even. That being said, it was always a pleasure to host some of our favorite contemporary acts, some for the first time in Vienna, and others repeatedly coming back. However, the live market for niche music like what we book is getting harder and tougher with each passing year. Production costs to tour and set up concerts are rising like crazy for artists, venues, and promoters alike. Although we always try to make our shows as affordable as possible (often being much cheaper than in other comparable European cities), it's not easy to stay afloat as a small booking agency like we are. This has been said many times by our peers, but please, if you can, buy tickets in advance. This helps us and the bands, along with their booking and label staff, a ton to plan. We are, however, grateful to everyone who comes and supports us and we understand that this is not possible every time. This remains our passion project: we are not making huge amounts of money with this - just trying to survive so it's worth continuing in the future. So… what is Das LOT? We get this question a lot ;) And honestly we get why. So as a little christmas gift we anchor this posting from now on in our feed to clarify a little. Das LOT is many things at once, and never just one thing. It’s not easy to pin down, because it’s not meant to be fixed. Das LOT is a transdisciplinary space for artistic research, shared practices and experiments. A place for sending and receiving – ideas, sounds, movements, questions, doubts. A harbour where different disciplines dock, overlap, contaminate and sometimes lose their authorship to become something new in collaboration. It is not just another white cube or black box, not just a club or dance studio, neither a theatre nor a simple venue – but it can be all of these, depending on what you bring and how we shape it together. It’s a space that stays in motion, because we believe space only really exists if it can be changed. Behind Das LOT stands the cultural association ECHOLOT and a production studio – together creating the conditions for experiments, works-in-process, exhibitions, concerts, performances, workshops, rehearsals, research and nights that don’t quite fit into one category. In the next slides, we try to make this a bit more tangible. Not to define Das LOT once and for all – but to give you an anchor point.
