The brief focused on generous indoor and outdoor living anchored around a kitchen-led plan, flexible sleeping spaces, and a low-maintenance, weather-resilient home. The house was designed as a series of connected experiences, each framing views of the orchard, river, and mountains making the landscape an integral part of everyday life. Inspired by evenings around a bukhari and bonfire, the interiors feature warm communal zones and intimate corners for slow, shared moments. Built in close collaboration with local craftsmen, deodar, pine, and slate ground the home in its setting, while timber from a dried walnut tree on site was handcrafted into key elements weaving a personal, lasting story into the space. “Words: @vaishnavitalawadekar Photographer : @studio_colourblind Stylist: @__monicadesigns Furniture: @lapanddado_official @thegardenroomofficial Lighting: @whitelightingsolutions Accessories: @edamame.home @saltandgrey_ @altrove.in @calcuttan_gallery Rugs: @kaaticarpets @obeetee #edamamedesign #interiordesign #architecturedigest”

We didn’t want a structure that competed with the mountains we wanted a design that breathed with them. Our latest project in Tirthan Valley, featured in Architectural Digest, is conceived as a sanctuary for those looking to disconnect. 🏔️✨ Favoring raw materiality over polished clichés, we worked with local textures slate, reclaimed wood, and an earthy palette to create a home that feels deeply rooted in the valley’s history while remaining modern in its silhouette. The layout encourages a quiet dialogue between the interiors and the rugged Tirthan landscape. They say it takes a village. Well, we couldn’t have pulled off this mountain project off without the support of our exceptional vendors, dedicated contractors, and our visionary client. As each piece fell into place, we were reminded of the extraordinary power of collaboration and what’s possible when a team comes together with a shared purpose. #interiordesign #edamamedesign #luxuryhomes #personalizedspaces

For the primary bedroom of Tirthan, I designed the space by first listening to it before doing anything else. I wanted it to feel like a place where you slow down not just sleep. The tall wooden ceiling felt strong and warm, so a four-poster bed just made sense. It beautifully highlights the height of the room. I kept the mood calm and easy by adding a small reading nook a simple corner to sit, pause, and unwind. The open dresser makes unpacking quick and effortless, especially for shorter stays. And the bathroom turned out even better than I imagined handmade yellow and white tiles that feel fresh, happy, and perfect for a relaxed holiday home. So happy to be part of this project🤍 #interiordesign #edamamedesign #luxuryhomes #personalizedspaces

In this 10,000 sq ft home in Tirthan Valley, the focus from the outset was on creating spaces that comfortably support both long and short stays, while remaining easy to maintain. We began the process with detailed renders and conversations around how the family would move through the house; how the living, dining, and kitchen areas would connect, where people would naturally gather, and how even transitional spaces could be made usable instead of being treated as leftover areas. These early studies helped us refine circulation, sightlines, furniture placement, and the balance between open and contained zones. Material choices were also tested at this stage, keeping the valley’s climate and wear in mind. The intention was never to replicate the renders exactly, but to stay true to the experience we imagined once the home was built on site. This project relied heavily on planning, iteration, and restraint. We’d love to know which part of the home stood out to you.

The attic was envisioned as an open, breathing space rather than a series of rooms. By preserving its height and openness, it became the heart of the home designed for warmth, gathering, and shared moments. #edamamedesign #interior #interiordecor #interiordesign #design
