Testing out the new Soniphorm exciters that go with the Smart Contact Mic in a straight up feedback battle. The volume is bring shaped by an envelope which is being triggered by a sequencer, and the lot is filtered through a low pass to take the screech off it a little. All happens in software on the Smart Contact Mic. Exciter kit will be available tomorrow, get in touch if you want one #sounddesign #noise

🌊 Not Breaking 🌊 🌊 This Wave Drowns Hate 🌊 Opening 6th November at The Substation #dublin @betafest_irl This dynamic and constantly evolving installation responds not only to the exhibition’s visitors but also to the voice of the ocean, prompting a bespoke AI agent to continuously re-envision images of sustainable ocean futures, projected onto sail cloth from a traditional Irish sailing vessel. Visitors are drawn through the exhibition by 5 bronze sculptures, hand cast in a replica bronze-age foundry, their movement sensed and fed to the installation’s AI, which has been trained on a database of inspirations contributed by residents of the Irish Atlantic Coast. Credits This work was commissioned within the framework of the S+T+ARTS 4Water II residency programme by ADAPT Centre at Dublin City University and Beta Festival, produced by Culture Works, with the support of Port of Galway, Galway Culture Company, Galway City Council and the S+T+ARTS programme of the European Union. “How to Make, Buy, and Use Contact Mics” is a 5 episode series I am working on for my Patreon channel. The series will cover not just what’s in the title, but also how to process the sounds from contact mics in creative ways, and using contact mics in performance settings. Which item is my dog in the video for? Did you catch it? Since you read this far, if you want to join Patreon before the series drops,\ DM me for a discount code. #Contactmic #sounddesign #diyinstruments #experimentalmusician
