This picture was taken in my fourth and final set of
@shipwreckednz , playing with
@isaacchambersmusic ,
@dubprincessmusic and Rachael Travaille (also said photographer) at the Hidden Reef. I also played a Zuke set of mostly originals, closing the Reef for the Friday night, including a sneaky 140s remix of a track I released 8 years ago to open - that was fun! Cute moment when playing a 4 hour sunrise set with
@dylanc_c on the Sunday when he played this remix having not heard it, so it was like a lil show and tell over the Hidden Reef soundsystem haha. Super nice. Also found myself guesting with the
@spacebuoys at Humming Hut around midnight on Saturday, joining in on the improv session and playing bass on the Moog. Super fun with them. Apart from the 8.5 hours of performing at Shippies, I spent most of the rest of my time there managing my energy in low power mode and trying to get naps at strange times with 12 subs pointing at my head haha. Getting home I found myself getting good long sleeps and not doing anything else but not actually feeling rested, reminding me of those times of being thirsty and water not seeming to help. I'm remembering the year I got burnout and was tired for almost a full year afterward, and trying my best not to get there again. Trying to take things one step at a time and not commit to anything I don't need to which might take energy. Got any tips? About to leave my room again to head to the final
@splorefestival which of course is a bit of a moment, having played the last ten in a row, and between 3 and 6 sets each time. This time I'm happy to just be playing Friday night for
@serenastevenson 's 3DIF project with Dylan and
@nikita_tu_bryant with projections of the film, then a cheeky lil Sunday afternoon DJ set at
@luckystar_hq . Look forward to seeing you there! And having time for a sea swim and a nap 🤩❤️ ooh and a river swim! Great!
