Dear everyone, This is a must see documentary. I’m so grateful to the @thequietepidemic team for this incredible film highlighting everything to do with Lyme disease. Dealing with Lyme disease has brought up a hidden truth for so many, which is that #lymedisease has been the most political and controversial disease in America for the last 50 years…and the International medical community is over it! 50 years and nothing has improved??!! There’s no proper treatment just yet. It’s all experimental and lots of mixed information, facts and views. That said, there are amazing Lyme experts, ILADS ( @ilads.lyme ), mds, healing centers and herbalists doing all they absolutely can to keep Lyme at bay or cure it if you are lucky enough. All I know is that Kids are suffering and handicapped because of Lyme disease and its co-infections such as Bartonella, Babesia, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia and many more. Any age is at risk, especially if you love to be out in nature. Hiking, picnicking, strolling, running,playing etc… It’s extremely hard to find the right Mds and Herbalists to treat you. It’s excruciatingly costly and unaffordable to most people and since it’s a highly medically controversial disease, insurances don’t cover treatments😳💔 And yea, it can be fatal. Please educate yourselves, because if you are a nature lover, you are bound to encounter a bacteria filled tick. Especially NOW more than ever, as the climate shifts flooding, humidity and temperatures rising. It’s a perfect habitat for evolving bacterias and parasites. Lyme is just the celebrity of the bunch. Cases are popping up everywhere around the world. 500k people get diagnosed with Lyme disease each year in America alone. Most people don’t even know they have it until it’s chronic, so who knows what the true statistics really are. To be a mother. Is by far the greatest love and joy and at the same time, it can be the hardest life altering experience of your life. It shape shifts you in ways that feels supernatural. I find myself constantly challenged, evolving and changing in indescribable ways. My sons are my biggest teachers. The uninterrupted personal and intimate world you had with yourself, merges with motherhood and the old self is quietly on pause indefinitely—until time stretches magically to replenish. Being a mother expands the soul to places you never thought you’d reach. It really is a giant reality check to what matters most in life. Motherhood grounds. Children remind us of the small but simple things in life. They give us the strength to keep going, as giving up isn’t an option. My biggest hope is that the world starts to prioratize and protect mothers, because we know how to nurture and heal this broken world. May all mothers be able to experience joy like in the carousel of photos I’m sharing today. I want to give a shout-out to the one and only @chris.smalls_ , one of the most courageous and effective political leaders in the United States and a person whom I deeply admire. I believe If we had a non-rigged electoral system, Chris would be a viable candidate for President. Why not? I’m writing two days after New York City police brutally arrested Chris as he tried to crash the very gross Met Gala in New York that was sponsored by Amazon founder and billionaire Jeff Bezos, using funds extracted from the hard labor of people like Chris. Chris spent years working his fingers to the bone for a pittance as an Amazon warehouse supervisor on Staten Island. After Amazon fired Chris in 2020 for protesting working conditions, he organized the first union of Amazon warehouse workers at his former workplace. He’s been haunting Bezos ever since, including calling out Amazon’s complicity with Israel’s government as it commits war crimes. Bezos hired the same law firm (@gibsondunnandcrutcher ) to try to defame Chris that Chevron had hired to defame me after I helped Amazon communities win the landmark Ecuador pollution case in 2013. An Amazon manager — in wholly racist fashion — once described Chris as “not articulate” when in fact he is one of the most brilliant speakers in the world with a huge platform on all the key issues of the day, including Gaza and worker rights and affordability. The picture above was taken in April 2022 in my then detention cell at home. That was the night Chris came to meet me with only 12 days left of my 993-day incarceration on a baseless Chevron-orchestrated contempt of court charge. We talked for hours. We realized we came from very different backgrounds, but were in the exact same place: targeted by powerful corporations trying to destroy us for exposing their abuses. The second slide is Chris being arrested Monday; the third is Chris speaking at the rally outside my apartment the day I was freed; the others were taken two nights later at the Brooklyn club @babysallright where we shared our stories with a sold-out audience. Love how Chris uplifts people and takes a nice bite out of the oligarchy’s ass while doing so.👊👊🔥🔥

She made it to the altar and married fellow activist Adam Shapiro. They spent their youth on the front lines of activism for Palestinian rights, standing in front of tanks and getting shot at by the Israeli military. Huwaida helped launch the Gaza flotilla movement and has been detained more times than she can count.
