Mahalo! We did it! 😎🤙🏼 We set a goal of achieving over 1000 impacts for each of our two projects that we support by the end of Earth Month, and as of May 1st, with your help we’ve planted 1020 trees and removed 1056 lbs of plastic from the ocean with @ecodrive !

We know that you wear Lani Shades to stylishly protect your eyes. We sell them to help protect the land and sea that we love. Since our founding in 2019 Lani Shades first partnered with One Tree Planted and helped plant approx 1740 trees as part of global reforestation programs.

Update: A little while ago we signed on with a really cool platform called Ecodrive, specifically to help do something about the problem of plastic pollution in the ocean. As sailors and ocean lovers, this problem is very near and dear to our hearts and is what inspired the founding of our brand. Lani Shades are a practical alternative to the overconsumption of unnecessary cheap plastic that ends up on the beaches that we love. But there’s still a lot of plastic out there that needs to be cleaned up and @4ocean is out there everyday cleaning it up. Through Ecodrive we are stoked now to be able to support 4ocean, by pulling a pound of plastic from the ocean with each sale of Lani Shades.

But what about trees? We don’t want the production of wood sunglasses to result in a loss of trees so we’re still all about planting trees too! We realize that the problem isn’t just chopping down trees but the loss of biodiversity and the socioeconomic effects that has on local communities. @erarestores is a group that is involved in projects around the world and through Ecodrive we are able to support their work in the Maranhão region of Brazil’s Blue Amazon to help restore biodiversity and alleviate poverty with community based projects. Through Ecodrive we are stoked now to be able to support Restoration Era, by planting a tree with each sale of Lani Shades.
