ECMC 2026 Berlin

Big day for ECMC this Saturday! Main Race Qualifications are happening. We need help building up the race course, and then we’re straight into qualifiers. There will be four 100 minute-long heats racing around Tempelhofer Feld - this event is open to all for cheering: please come and spectate, cheer and enjoy! @rueckenwind.berlin mobile workshop will also be on hand to help anyone with last minute bike surprises (thanks Anna and Jess!). Join a hand-crafting metal workshop from hat clips, engraving stem caps, through to spurs at Plattenladen. Siri hosts a WTNBIA+ alleycat that’s also an art tour. There might be a few different options of how to ride this race, whether you take on trickier checkpoints with a side quest, or hit as many stops as you can. We’re holding a WTNBIA+ Forum: these meetings invite WTNBIA+ folks to come together to share experiences and build structures to improve ways of working. You can be as active as you like, but there’s always space for you; finding like-minded folks who have had similar experiences is powerful and fun. At the same time, we have a workshop on critical masculinity focused on making the messenger community a more inclusive space for everyone (including yourself!). 🔻And if you require more sports, there are triangle sprints too. 🔺 THEN! We head to Panke for a sing, dance and party. We kick things off with “Massenkaraoke” - a pedal powered goldsprint karaoke fest with @pony.tyler and continue into post-industrial psych-noise with tasty visuals @_itsleeps , experimental and noise with Kettenblatt Massaker, and more noise with @ettaharbar , and then DJs take over. Get your dancing SPDs on.

Welcome to the ECMC Race Course. Tempelhofer Feld was our dream location when we pitched for ECMC. We can’t wait for you to race on it. The former airport is a symbol of the city. The people of the city voted to protect the massive space from gentrification - and continue to - and it’s now home to runways (2), kiteboarders, skateboarders, rollerbladers, community gardens, birds, dogs, flowers, minigolfers, runners, cyclist, historians, families, and lovers. And it’s a mean place to watch a sunset. There’s a huge area for ECMC full of surfaces. Our News Team provides an informational report for you. Luckily since filming, the sun has also appeared in the city.

Parts of ECMC are open to the public and broader bike community. Want to join in? Here’s what the Open ECMC Menu looks like: Thursday: Welcome Cat (Reg 2-3pm, riding 3-7pm) Start point: TiB HQ, Columbiadamm 111 Description: Eat your pasta before coming – you’re about to see a lot of Berlin. There’ll be prizes for locals and out-of-towners. Take it as seriously or as chill as you like. Thanks to Critters for hosting this one. Friday AM: Dispocat (Reg 11-11:30am) Start point: TiB HQ, Columbiadamm 111 Description: A Dispocat is about racing and coordinating together. You’re not only routing yourself around the city from A to B, but you’re working effectively as a small company in your team with an active dispatcher. One person will be responsible for dispatching, and will direct you around the city as you go up against other teams. Friday PM: Fahrwerk WTNBIA+ (FLINTA) Monopoly Cat and WTNBIA+ food/drinks/hangout (Reg 7:30-8:00, riding 8pm-9:30, food and drinks from 9:30-11pm) Description: This WTNBIA+ monopoly cat relies on the roll of a dice – or draw of a tarot card in this case - to decide where you’ll be riding. Hosted by @fahrwerk_berlin , the Monopolycat will start from their head-quarters in Treptower Park. You’ll get to know a local park quite intimately, and then riders are invited for drinks (donation-based) and food (gluten and soy- free options) afterwards at Fahrwerk, too. Saturday: WTNBIA+ (FLINTA) Cat (Reg 19:30) Start point: TiB HQ, Columbiadamm 111 Description: An open course event that’s also an art tour. There might be a few different options of how to ride this race, whether you take on trickier checkpoints with a side quest, or hit as many stops as you can. Thanks to Siri for organising this one. Each event costs 5 EUR. Saturday & Sunday: Everyone is ALSO invited to the main race to spectate as registered riders race around Tempelhofer Feld. When: Saturday 9am-2:30pm, Sunday 10am-4pm. Where: North West side of Tempelhofer Feld Description: An invitation to all to come spectate as 200+ bike messengers race around a closed-course track on Tempelhofer Feld, picking up and delivering “jobs” in a work-day-simulation.

Here’s how Friday at ECMC is looking. We’ve got a Dispo Cat to be ridden in teams, track games courtesy of @abc__ldn , a WTNBIA+ Monopolycat by @fahrwerk_berlin , our exhibition opens its doors for your artistic eyes, we’re getting ready for the weekend’s main race with a briefing - if you’re checkpointing, this is for you - a nice pub quiz which is by the 4-hour-league but is not four hours long, a @coopcycle workshop (not just for collectives), and we’ll also be eating, drinking, and visiting Insel der Jugend which is a beautiful place for a park hang. A lot of this is open to everyone - not just ECMC participants - and we’d love you to get involved.
