We've just installed a set of @radioshoppickups in our @vintageguitars_official V52 Tele. I've always though V52 is a very slept on tele, but the stock electronics just can't compete with more high end guitars (though still really great for the price you pay). After much research we discovered Welsh company Radioshop 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 and with some helpful advice from Paul we settled on the Pure 50s set, with the blender mod, for our upgrade. Really, really impressed with Radioshop, from the customer service through to the beautiful craftsmanship and most importantly the incredible sounds we can now coax from the guitar. I'm a pretty poor guitarist, but have been lucky enough to play with many wonderful guitarists over the decades, and have recorded many more at the studio, so for what it's worth, I can tell you the tone is spot on and the blender mod is a genius addition. For any other V52 owners out there I can't recommend this enough - one thing to be aware of is the stock pots in my V52 were only 8mm so I had to drill the control plate to fit the new pots, but other than that, the install was easy peasy, I also went solderless as unlike @tucknelson I suck at soldering! I won't subject you to any clips of my own playing as I can't do the tones justice but head over to radioshops page for plenty of great videos showcasing what their pups can do. #echoraystudio #telecaster #radioshoppickups

Happy release day to @thirdeyeofthecrone for Odes to the wild expanse. We loved working on these tunes with Richard. The EP so nice we recorded it twice.... Unfortunately we had a catastrophic data loss when nearing the original final mixes (and learned a valuable lesson about multi location backups people!). Luckily Rich trusted us to make it right and we were able to completely record 2 of the tunes, salvage a third and add a new 4th song (which just so happens to be our favourite tune on the EP - Hastings 47). Catching up on some social media as some of the Echo Ray Studio crew get some down time over Xmas. Flashback to a day tracking 4 tunes with the great @fatb3rg earlier this year. They came through via @defstefmusic and spent a day working with Fergal. Smashing out 4 tunes in a day means they were either very well prepared or just very good at what they do. Possibly both! In any case the tunes were blistering. Keep meaning to catch them live. On this month’s episode I had the pleasure to have @ferj_gainsbourg ! Fergal McBride is an Irish producer, engineer, DJ, and bassist born in Sligo and raised in Castlebar, County Mayo. Now based in London, he co-owns @echoraystudio , founded in 2020 with his partner @tucknelson , who has been recording bands for over 20 years. Fergal is a core member of several acclaimed projects. With @smithandthehoneybadgers , he crafts modern funk and soul, contributing to their debut album Killing Time (2025). Alongside Tuck Nelson, he also leads @therayvelles , the Echo Ray Studio house band. They produced their first album in 2024 on @funknight and more recently released the single Haunted by Your Love on @symphonicalrecords He also plays with @thewaxpreachers , a seven-piece instrumental funk outfit mixing afrobeat and breakbeats. Known for their blistering live shows, The Wax Preachers have been igniting festival and club stages across the country. They recently collaborated with NYC soul singer @carltonjsmithofficial on a double A-side single, Gotta Go Home and Loud & Clear. The release showcases the uplifting harmonies conducted by Carlton Jumel Smith,a well-versed showman spreading the love around the world !
