ETA: the strike is on pause but the pressure continues!
Beloved comrade @echochochoro got me involved in the struggle of NYC healthcare home workers fighting against the 24 hour workday last year—a deeply meaningful movement I am proud to support, with an urgent call to action we can and should all believe in.
Unfortunately, state and city politicians, especially @govkathyhochul@speakermenin and much-lauded @nycmayor all have broken promises or commitments or outright endorse this barbaric labor expectation! To shame.
So we are asking for attention, solidarity, and your voice to join this action—writers, please sign on to this open letter and demand Mamdani back Intro 303 which will end the 24 hour workday.
And if you are in NYC—consider joining the strikers, supporting them during a shift, however you may be able to show support in person.
@bluebagpress is going to publish a chapbook of mine, The Academics, which is part of a larger manuscript-in-progress. ridicules and overshares and sincere grappling with “the student,” this symbolic & historic awkward existence. Thank you Thom forever for the friendship and support, and thank you @geoffrey_olsen_ for reading with me on a rainy moody Buffalo night. I teared up hearing Geoffrey’s musicality. Both Thom and Geoffrey are important poets to me. And Blue Bag Press is among one of the first presses that I found and nurtured my own thinking on publishing/writing through. kudos kudos to my 1.5 year journey into beloved gibberish! more to come xoxo
:) our first book is officially out now:)
:) dispatches from the erotic continent:)
look im ngl i read one poem from this book and i knew we had to publish it. very few books that i have ever read are as urgent, unforgiving, yet tender as Erotic Continent. it's been an honor to work with @echochochoro on this book.

Next Saturday, May 9th, live from Red Hook Record Shop: a poetry reading with Ariel Yelen, Claire Devoogd, Anna Gurton-Wachter, Tobi Kassim, Emily Simon, Yuyi Chen, Ry Cook, Arjun Ram Srivatsa, Sara Jane Stoner, and Stacy Skolnik
This was supposed to be a post about my upcoming panel+readings at @neworleanspoetry , but guess what @julmenin bowed down to our socialist mayor @zohrankmamdani and decided it was unacceptable that immigrant women should dare to work only 12 hour shifts. It’s a system that moves mountain and sea to ensure we all overwork to death and still be grateful for the crumbs we get from a suicidal job, and these women taught me how to have a spine.
Poets, I will see you at city hall from April 16th. There is a link in my bio to donate to the hunger strike. Let’s meet each other and read poetry together when victory is declared, and workers end 24 hour workday for all of us.
hello everyone.....spring's back! & with a new season we herald the next iteration of Real Lovers, a special commemorative edition that doubles as @aris_trivisa_itihasa birthday party.
of course what this means is that we have a handpicked few of her favorite friends & contemporaries converged in a veritable Luster Candy of powered up writing for the evening: @gregorspamsa / @acorn_extract / @whatvrmkesmehappy / @echochochoro / @martin_annielou !
April 11th, 7pm, see you on the roof for the reading & the apartment for the post. hit our line.

super emotionally overwhelming weekend in Baltimore… many photos r supposed to happen but didn’t! i don’t think there’s any other place in the world that makes me feel equally loved (and hurt - but loved nonetheless). endless thanks to @laurellevia & @thecompoundbaltimore for letting me host this special reading. I think I helped create some beautiful moments. In ur musicality stands mine… I love y’all.
I’m hosting a poetry reading on March 7th so my friends and literature crushes can have fun in my dear home Baltimore.
