Backseat is hosting this years brunch-time music at the @horstartsandmusic campsite, trodding grounds paved by Matinée and Kiosk Radio before us. The recipe is simple: a musical curation for the early risers and hungry. On Saturday we’re joining our friends from @pluto______________ to celebrate their 6th anniversary. Pluto is a creative ecosystem in Valencia home to art residencies, exhibitions, and cultural events – supporting local artists, facilitating collaboration and conversation, and springing from DIY culture. echo-echo will open the event with Echoes of Trust, an inner journey combining deep listening with breathing and guided meditation. The intention is to land smoothly into the space, getting closer to ourselves and others ahead of a long day of music, dancing, and good company. After the workshop, we will continue with a long listening session, exploring the depths of ambient, spiritual jazz, and downtempo music under the spring sunshine.

Lighting is central in shaping mood, quietly guiding us into a deeper listening state. Last February, I collaborated with my friends at @echo__.__echo to curate the lighting for their Hush event at @n.earspace . Each piece brought intention, warmth, and texture, creating a cozy atmosphere to sit back and enjoy the musical journey.

Echoes of Nostalgia by Jahm (007hz) What to make of nostalgia? Sometimes it brings us back to dear people, places or moments. Other times it transports us to lives that we’ve never lived — fantastic worlds of outlandish encounters and surreal memories. Jahm takes us on such a journey: a garden of whimsical sounds gently allowing the mind to drift toward moments when life felt simpler and lighter — or perhaps moments that never even existed. A fusion of textures and eras, Echoes of Nostalgia wanders through 1960s Exotica, Jazz, Experimental, Trip Hop and touches of the absurd. As he puts it, “feelings of nostalgia, escapism, theatrical playfulness and wonder ran through me while putting this one-hour journey together.” Now see where it takes you… Set in, relax and be open minded - it’s all kind of a foreign but familiar dream. Jahm is a moniker of @jamo_cairns , a DJ and event producer from Cape Town, South Africa, where he organizes Kunda Valley with a few close friends and a community of artists. A multidisciplinary artist and a warm presence, who can just as well be playing dub in the afternoon, to house and techno peak time or downtempo oddities for early risers – always with equal care and sensibility. Whether flipping records or conceptualizing a stage design, James is moved by a love to create and share, and an assurance that music connects, opens doors and brings happiness, curiosity and life into all of us.

Memories from Eu-ritmia, a new workshop we designed to practice honest and intimate communication in a fun and playful way - without language! Through individual and partner dynamics, we heard and expressed our inner rhythms, using bodily techniques and inarticulate noises. Of course, music accompanied the journey, but this time we were all part of the soundtrack! The evening ended with a community dinner at Casa Paz, providing the usual cozy space for connection. 📹: @charleslemon

echo-echo x Casa Androna 🏚️ After a lovely Hush last Thursday, we are back next Sunday with another listening room session for Casa Androna’s opening weekend. For this edition we invite Irene Marsal, writer and creator of Retratos: a narrative journey through poetry and music where memories and emotions intertwine, exploring how past and present live within the body. Combining prose and ambient music, Retratos is an intimate live experience where scars become part of our story and words and sound create a shared portrait. Retratos will be recounted in Spanish 🎐 Martini Raw will present his live set of ambient and downtempo, infused with his signature mysticism, tribalism, and groove. Balou will play a selection of dubby, world and leftfield listening records 🍭 Casa Androna is a multidisciplinary cultural platform located in an apartment undergoing deconstruction in the neighborhood of Gràcia. A collective space and meeting point where different interests, practices, and people come together, at the intersection of art, community, and co-creation. Echoes of Excitement by Òscar Silvente (006hz) Travel back (or forward) to an endless afternoon in a listening room on NYD at @audiodise : some crash on couches after hours dancing; others, inexhaustible, wanna groove to slower rhythms; others are fresh and rested after a good night sleep. The mood is loose and playful. As the set advances the energy picks up: looks of complicity across the room, necks and feet moving, laughs get louder. The set reflects Oscar’s artistic journey of self-discovery, letting both the little groovers and chillers inside of him have their say. Driven by instinct, he lets himself get carried away, feeling free and unconstrained, playing 45rpm records at 33rpm and surprising himslelf at the result: “I find an unknown excitement from hearing this new side of my sound: primal, sensuous, and very authentic to me.“ Crash in your couch or sit in the driver’s seat, and let Echoes of Excitement take you places! Òscar Silvente is a solo project focused on downbeat and slower sounds, representing the most intimate and personal side of Silvente’s record collection. Half of DJ Service and co-curator of DJ Serviced Records, Òscar is a devoted vinyl collector who has been quietly shaping the independent club scene for over a decade, both in his hometown Barcelona and in dancefloors across Europe.

Hush is back next Thursday, March 12th, in N-ear space 🪁 An intimate afternoon to lose yourself in outsider ambient and downtempo music… laying down, crashing, or turning upside down… guided by the sounds of Haybayl, Marta Mer, Psycius, and Balou. Lebanese DJ and producer Haybayl crafts intricate sonic landscapes through layered ambient textures and hypnotic tones. Fluid and intentional, their music defies structure, serving as intuitive bridges into the depths of memory, emotion and movement. Barcelona’s Marta Mer is a DJ and radio host (RBL) who blew us away at Equilibrio. Besides her signature high-energy club sound, her listening explorations are soft and enveloping, unfolding through immersive soundscapes, melodies and textures. Music that feels like a hug. Psycius sits on the trippier edge of the spectrum. Influenced by Berlin New Age, electronica and ambient pioneers, his sets are dark, deep, and introspective, moved by an acute sensibility of the emotionally evocative powers of music. After digging in the shadows for years, he will be making his debut with us – and trust us, you don’t want to miss it :) Rounding up the bill is echo-echo’s own Balou, who has selected some of his favorite listening records for the occasion. N-ear is an intimate space with hi-fi sound close to Park Güell. There will be homemade food and drinks, served and prepared with love 💛 Remember — this is a listening space with an utmost respect to sound. Last month, we had the pleasure of hosting Echoes of Sigh, a sound and breathing journey at Antoni Gaudí’s Casa Batlló as part of the Respira series. It felt like a dream to share the morning with familiar and new faces, gathered between the white undulating walls of this 1906 modernist masterpiece.
