Calypso, Glazed stoneware, 5x10x2.5”, 2026. First attempt at sculpting from life. Initial 2 hr pose with great model, @isabellathrows then several hours continuing to subtract. Had to just guess what the back of the pose looked like 🙂

Our ten year old is in a big drawing phase and frowns on depictions of aliens that are too much like humans. Most of his creatures these days are hybrid colonies of animals/plants/fungus, etc. Cats reoccur but they aren’t cats- they are aliens that just happen to look a lot like cats.
