Three years ago, a one-of-a-kind collaborative live record was born in the form of a limited edition vinyl. To this day, it remains unlike anything I've ever experienced. Recently, I was told by a friend that copies are being sold for £500 on Discogs! It was a conscious choice to give the release a distinct value by making it solely a physical object, rather than just another digital release lost in the vast void of the internet. This record was culled from hours of music made during a week-long studio session in Copenhagen where we shared our creative process with the public through two talks. We arranged our equipment in triangle formation, fusing ideas together in a collaborative sphere. I feel fortunate to have had the chance to join forces with two of my most cherished creative synthesists and to have gained a wealth of knowledge from this experience. Shortly after recording this I embarked on a journey to Iceland to create my solo record: SPECIES. Attached are excerpts of two of my favourite tracks. Link in bio for full artist talk.

Working on a new collaborative release with cellist David Barbenel, whose album Light to Light I produced. It brings together works we have made over the years, with strings, electronics and spoken word at its core. Photo by @davidbarbenel

Rehearsing Six Exercises in Unknowing with the Naples Philharmonic in Naples, Florida, ahead of its performance alongside Limón Dance Company was an honour. It was incredibly rewarding to hear the piece take shape with the orchestra and to refine it in rehearsal with conductor Manuel López-Gómez. Writing for orchestra has lived in my imagination since childhood. Thank you to Jan Willem de With for helping prepare the score.

Open Continuum brings together prints made from my oil paintings, drawings, collages, and etchings, alongside a sound installation composed for the exhibition. The works reflect an ongoing dialogue between my visual and compositional practices, where ideas evolve in parallel through shared temporal processes. I work through accumulation, repetition, erosion, and slow transformation. I approach image making with attention to rhythm, density, harmony, and silence, and I approach composition with sensitivity to colour, texture, space, and material presence. Methods developed in one medium reappear in another, allowing the work to move between image and sound without hierarchy. Much of my work is shaped by an interest in non human perspectives, including animal, environmental, artificial, and speculative modes of perception. Working from positions that sit outside the human centre loosens inherited ways of making, allowing systems, materials, and time to take a more active role. Opening 31 January, 6pm to 7pm at Monade Art Phil, Kyoto. Open Continuum Monade Art Phil @monadecontemporary Room 2, B1F Yasaka Bldg, 10-2 Tsukimi cho, Higashiyama ku, Kyoto 605 0829 Opening 31 January, 6pm to 7pm Access 12 minute walk from Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station 10 minute walk from Keihan Gion Shijo Station 2 minute walk from Kyoto City Bus Higashiyama Yasui Works shown in video: Ausform (graphite on paper) and Untitled (etching), 2025 Music: Slow System, Ebe Oke (unreleased) Open Continuum

A new score I composed for orchestra and electronics, commissioned by the Naples Philharmonic, premiered last night at The Joyce Theater in New York. The composition accompanies Jamelgos, a new creation by Diego Vega Solorza, commissioned by the Limón Dance Company, celebrating its 80th anniversary season. Performances run October 14–18 at 7:30pm, with matinees on the 18th and 19th at 2pm.
Link in bio for more information. Thank you to Diego Vega Solorza, Dante Puleio and the Limón Dance Company, and David Filner at the Naples Philharmonic for bringing this project to life. I’d also like to thank Robert Logan, David Barbenel, and Charlie Draper, whose performances on additional synths, strings, and ondes Martenot helped shape the sound of this work. 📷 Photo by Kelly Puleio @diegovegasolorza , @limondance , @artistnaples , @dantepuleio , @cognessence , @davidbarbenel , @charlietheremin , @kellypuleio , @thejoycetheater
