Our buckwheat course is always changing with the seasons, but the intention behind this course stays the same. The newest version was served to our guests last night, but this one still remains one of our favourites.
Our toasted and sprouted buckwheat is seasoned with morels, covered with ramp bulbs that are slowly cooked in butter, with carefully arranged variegated kale leaves from Meadowood that are lightly grilled and seasoned with smoked garlic vinegar aged in oak.
Always served in “The buckwheat bowl” by @erinhuppceramics and photos beautiful taken by @kellypuleio two of our favourite people!
I’ve been remiss in shouting out my Spring/Summer books here, but today with all its Showgirl fanfare seems like a good day to highlight this one: THE ERAS POUR. Yes, this is a Taylor Swift themed cocktail book. Yes, this was the most fun I’ve ever had working on a book! The idea occurred to me one morning on my way into the office and from there, like an Avengers-style fever dream, the superhero team of collaborators converged and the manuscript and photos were delivered just a handful of months/blinks later. Said superhero team includes: @iadingman who kills every book, but man this one was next level in all its layers and pitch perfect design; @kellypuleio this wouldn’t be what it is without you!! You are a genius and I am a forever disciple and I hope we only ever work on books together that are this fun and joy-inducing; @stephaniehuntwork our fearless leader on the visuals, who also came up with the perfect title because you are also a genius; and *especially* our “Alison Grey” pen-named author Who Must Not Be Named, but you know who you are and my adoration, gratitude, and respect for you knows no bounds! You made this happen.
When editing means falling into endless online TS k-holes so we could jam as many deep-cut Easter eggs as possible into every nook and cranny of this book, well I guess I’ve found my calling.
TLDR: this book is really good, buy it for every Swiftie you know!!
