I recently joined East Elevation Construction crew for our regular on‑site toolbox talk and this month we focused on scaffold safety. 🦺🏗️
We walked the scaffold, highlighted real risks like incomplete handrails, unsecured planks and poor housekeeping, and showed how one “quick shortcut” can lead to a serious fall. ⚠️
The team nailed some clear actions they can own:
Check scaffold tags and access before stepping on ✅
Keep platforms clear of offcuts, tools and leads 🧹
Never alter scaffold yourself – call the licensed scaffolders 👷♂️
Report damaged or moved sections and stop work until it’s safe 🛑
The big takeaway? If one person takes a risk on a scaffold, every contractor around them is exposed – safety is a team effort. 🤝
