This week’s beautiful page is one of reflection and connection to all that is, to this ancient land on which we stand and to our remarkable ancestors who built these ceremonial circles of community thousands of years ago. These liminal spaces are portals, sacred thresholds between what has gone before and what is now, and where the veil between the worlds is thin.
Claire Arnold’s evocative words and the hyper realism of Sarah Vivian’s art perfectly capture the spirit of place.

Art: ‘Men-an-tol, West Penwith, Cornwall’ - Sarah Vivian ()

WELCOME MAY!
From the Earth Pathways Wall Calendar for 2026
Ceremonies are deeply embedded in the fabric of human experience. From the first stirrings of civilisation, all cultures have created ceremonies as the backdrop for acknowledging significant moments and life events. Most of us will participate in a ceremony at some point, be it focused on a joining, birth or death or a time of significant change, transition or achievement. Ceremonies can transform our wounds and griefs and help us to cope with the hardest of times, as well as elevate our joys and empower us to dare, to step beyond imagined boundaries and become more than we ever thought possible. Through ceremony we experience a unity within ourselves, a deep connection with others and with the world around us.
This beautiful 1st of the month ceremony by Nicola Wood brings a heart-warming, heart-opening moment of focus and meaning in what might ordinarily be a time of rush and noise. Instead it weaves all together in appreciation, joy and love.

This week’s diary page celebrates nettles! As kids, many of us will remember their painful and long lasting stings and searching for dock leaves to ease the discomfort. Little did we know that what we saw as one of nature’s villains was actually one of her heroes too. Nettles makes such an important ecological contribution to both our health and the health of our environment. In this piece @pixie.mo Mo Kendall rightly reveres the nettle. She also speaks of her hopes to learn to spin nettle stems into yarn. For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, this amazing and wondrous skill can be seen in the deeply touching, award winning documentary @nettledressfilm tledress.org/
