๐Ÿ‡๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒท๐Ÿชญ Opening May 30! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿงถ๐Ÿชก Join us for a vivid showcase of boundary-pushing craft practices that reclaim and revel in what has been minimized as the frivolously feminine, the scandalously queer, and the exotically ornamental! ๐™ข๐™–๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง๐™ž๐™–๐™ก ๐™™๐™ž๐™จ๐™ค๐™—๐™š๐™™๐™ž๐™š๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™š Curated by Madeline Collins Free artist-led embroidery workshop: Friday, May 29, 4-7pm, @roozamooncafe rsvp link in bio Free panel discussion: Saturday, May 30, 1-3pm, @harbourfrontcentre Studio Theatre rsvp link in bio Exhibition Opening reception: Saturday, May 30, 6-10pm Rhinestones, beads, crystals, embroidery, textiles, and ceramics have all been variously perceived as symbols of โ€œexcessiveโ€ cultures or lifestyles, an association that has served to reinforce creative hierarchies and trivialize marginalized identities. By centering these materials in their work, Thรฉo Bignon (@theo_bignon ), Molly JF Caldwell (@mollyjfcaldwell ), Lux Gow-Habrich (@lux.sparkledust ) and Hea R. Kim (@hea_creative ) entwine visual and haptic pleasures with critical analyses of labour, gender, queerness, and colonialism. The Lost & Found Project Space 420 Queen St E, Toronto May 30 - June 20, 2026 This exhibition and programming is a part of Openwork, an artist-led initiative by TLAF Collective to encourage new voices and critical engagement in the field of experimental craft and material-based practice. ๐™ข๐™–๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง๐™ž๐™–๐™ก ๐™™๐™ž๐™จ๐™ค๐™—๐™š๐™™๐™ž๐™š๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™š is generously funded by the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, and the Toronto Arts Council. hihi, it's been a while! (still alive) want to thank the canada council for the arts and the ontario arts council for making this project possible. i've been working doggedly to push my materials and sculptural work into very new and uncomfortable territory. to be honest, i'm still terrified--but it's starting to come together; here's a preview of what's brewing. Image: part of recent work in progress combining fired and glazed porcelain with steel forms. other materials include polymer modified raw clay, stainless steel, fabric, and dried flora.

๐Ÿ’—Sound on ๐Ÿ”Š ๐Ÿ’— Thank you @ontarioartscouncil for granting me the opportunity to pursue a welding and metalworking skills mentorship! Learning how to work with metal has been such a long time goal for me. I'm so grateful for this opportunity and for the people who've supported and encouraged me: Sean (who made the connection), and Tom (the amazingly patient mentor), Garrett (who introduced me to plasma cutting), Monica (my welding buddy and coconspirator), Nick (always there for me), Helen, Azza, and Shay (three inspiringly badass welders and artists), and Nilou (for all your help and support in the studio). The artist gratefully acknowledges the support of the Chalmers Family Fund administered by the Ontario Arts Council. #ontarioartscouncil #oacgrantee @kristynwongtam #ontarioartist #ceramicsandsteel #ceramicsculpture

Made it through my first @nuitblancheto as a โœจvenue! โœจ It's also the tenth ๐Ÿ”Ÿ๐ŸŽ‰exhibition at @thelostandfound_to since I launched the project space in 2023. Last night was amazing: over 350-400 people came through. People really spent time and listened ๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿ“ž The exhibition's a beautiful, wistful, and lyrical experience by a team of U of T Music graduate program alumni led by @mickifiddlesaround and @zakriyabh , including @diana_nadia_ , @tyasmusic , and @yunyoungleeee . The extended exhibition runs until Saturday October 12, โœจstill time to come see it! โœจMon, Wed, Fri, 4-7 pm and Sat 12-5. Really grateful for the experience working with these wonderful artists. We got through 2am install days, a super tight timeline, and multiple cat distractions๐Ÿพ So many thanks to everyone I've worked with since starting this crazy endeavour @thelostandfound_to . Can't believe how much we've made happen, how much I've learned, and how many beautiful, meaningful moments have bubbled up from all the joy, sweat, tears, and brilliance poured into every show โค๏ธ Thanks for sharing that with me, and allowing me to share it with others, in turn. ๐Ÿ’ซ #nbto24 #1800inferno #thelostandfoundto #projectspace
