Affordable housing doesn’t happen without the right people at the table. We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Rohnert Park Vice-Mayor Jackie Elward to tour San Clemente Place and to have a real conversation about what state leadership looks like when it comes to funding affordable communities. Jackie is running for the open State Assembly seat this June, and visits like this are exactly how change gets built. #AffordableHousing #EAHHousing #SanClementePlace #CommunityFirst #HousingMatters #CaliforniaHousing #StateAssembly

Warm mahalo to everyone who joined us for the Aloha Iā Halewilikō groundbreaking and blessing on Friday, Feb. 13. We are grateful for your presence and support in marking this meaningful milestone for our kūpuna community in ‘Aiea. We were honored to hear from an inspiring lineup of speakers, including the Office of the Governor; the City and County of Honolulu; the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; Bank of Hawaiʻi and U.S. Bank; the ʻAiea Community Association; and EAH Housing leadership. Their remarks reflected the power of partnership and what is possible when organizations come together in the service of our kūpuna and our community. We were especially moved by the heartfelt words of a Halewilikō resident, who shared how grateful she is to call this community home and what it means to have a place filled with care, connection, and belonging. This project reflects a shared commitment to honoring our seniors with dignity, connection, and support. We’re grateful to everyone who made this celebration possible and to the residents who now call Aloha Iā Halewilikō home. Big mahalo to our event vendors for helping us create such a special celebration! This month, we honor Whitney M. Young Jr., a visionary leader who challenged institutions to expand opportunities and remove barriers to housing, education, and economic mobility. He believed that equity is not an act of generosity. It is a responsibility. His leadership continues to inspire our work as we strive to build communities rooted in dignity, access, and belonging. Because safe, affordable housing is not a privilege. It is a foundation for opportunity. #BlackHistoryMonth #HeroesInHousing #HousingJustice #AffordableHousing #EquityInAction

Major news from Hawai‘i! The City and County of Honolulu has selected EAH Housing as the preferred partner for two transformative affordable housing projects. 436 Ena Road in Waikiki will transform a vacant eight-story building into long-term affordable housing for families and kupuna in one of Honolulu’s most competitive markets. Located just off Kalakaua Avenue, this adaptive reuse project maximizes affordability in the heart of Waikiki. Iwilei Center, a nearly 4-acre site next to the future Kuwili Skyline Station, will deliver hundreds of affordable and workforce homes integrated with transit access, retail, and community spaces. This transit-oriented development is part of the city’s vision to transform the Iwilei-Kapalama district into a vibrant, connected neighborhood. We’re partnering with Core Tech and Lowney Architecture on both projects, bringing decades of experience to revitalize these important sites. Mahalo to Mayor Rick Blangiardi, the Department of Housing and Land Management, and all our City and State partners for this incredible opportunity to serve the Honolulu community! @mayorrickhnl @honolulu_gov #EAHHousing #Honolulu #Hawaii #AffordableHousing #TransitOrientedDevelopment #Waikiki #IwileiCenter #CommunityImpact #HousingForAll #AdaptiveReuse #HonoluluHousing
