Attending this inaugural #prideinourparks LGBTQ+ day in the
@mammothcavenps was hands down the most impactful pride event I have experienced!
@kristen_aplin and I were able to recruit
@ae_muri28 to come with us at the last minute, and all three of us had a blast! We made lots of new friends, turned the world’s longest known cave into the gayest known cave, and wandered through the woods in our colorful #PrideinOurParks shirts proudly waving our pride and trans flags about.
Celebrating pride month in the park felt liberating as everyone was welcoming during a time in the world that sometimes feels scary to be LGBTQ+, especially in the south. We even got a shout out from our ranger thanking us for being part of her tour that day. It was heartfelt, and you could tell it really meant a lot for her to be able to show her support while doing something she loves. It meant a lot to us too! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🏳️⚧️🤎🖤
