From Council estates to Royal estates…
Back in 2003, I was just a young Steven Frayne on a council estate in Bradford with a head full of dreams and a deck of cards in my hands. I couldn’t get backing, most people thought I was just chasing illusions… until @kingstrust believed in me.
They gave me a couple grand to help launch Dynamo: Modern Magic—and I started filming the journey that would change my life forever.
Fast forward 22 years, and yesterday I had the surreal honour of performing magic for the King himself… back in my hometown. Full circle doesn’t even begin to cover it.
To anyone out there with a big dream: don’t let anyone tell you it’s impossible. It takes graft, belief, and yeah… a little magic.
The King helped me unlock mine—and thanks to his incredible Trust, thousands of other young people are getting the same chance.

Not bad for a kid from a council estate in Bradford who used to walk around with a deck of cards in his pocket hoping one day life might look a little different.
Before the TV shows, before the tours, before the name Dynamo meant anything to anyone… there was a moment where somebody chose to believe in me.
The King’s Trust gave me support when I needed it most and helped turn an idea people doubted into a career that changed my life.
Yesterday was a reminder of how powerful that belief can be.
Getting to present an award to @olukristian was a real full circle moment because I know first hand what it feels like to be on the receiving end of that encouragement. Sometimes all it takes is for one person, or one organisation, to make you feel seen… and suddenly impossible starts feeling possible.
The whole day was genuinely inspiring.
So many incredible young people doing amazing things and proving that where you start in life doesn’t have to decide where you end up.
