“I used to read Men’s Health when I was a kid. I never saw anybody like me doing anything like this. And that would’ve been pretty life-changing for me when I was really struggling with my own self-worth, my body image, getting bullied about my disability. It would’ve been incredible. I don’t have abs, I’m a paraplegic – it’s really hard to get abs. I didn’t used to love my body. I still have moments where I don’t, but I was like, ‘You know what? Let’s go kit off on the cover’. It really pushed me.”
Our August cover star, @dylanalcott , reveals what a Men’s Health cover means to him and why he hopes it will inspire people living with a disability to pursue their dreams and “have a crack”. The former Grand Slam winner and 2022 Australian of the Year trained for 12 weeks with trainer @jonocastanoacero to get in peak physical shape.

In the middle of the noise, music and epic fun of Ability Fest, we got to pause for a second and give Johnny something life changing. It was pure shock, joy and a moment none of us will ever forget!
Johnny headed in to Rove HQ to script up his custom 3D printed wheelchair with Bryce, the best in the game. He toured the factory and saw exactly how and where his chair is going to be made.

After a life changing brain injury in 2022, Angus has channelled his experience into creativity. He is now working toward becoming a full-time stand-up comedian and developing a comedy show to take to the world.
With the support of the Dylan Alcott Foundation, he’s one step closer to making that vision a reality.
