Twenty-one years ago today, God blessed me with a gift I didn't fully understand yet.
A son. MY son.
What I didn't know then was how much he would change me. Not just my life, but my way of being. The man I wanted to become. The standard I had to hold myself to.
Every time I look at him, I feel something words struggle to carry. Pride doesn't quite cover it. It's deeper than that. It's the feeling of watching someone you love step fully into who they were always meant to be.
He is kind in a world that doesn't always reward kindness. He leads with love when the easier choice is indifference. He carries joy with him without even trying.
Son, you didn't just enter my world. You expanded it.
Thank you for making me a better man simply by being who you are. Thank you for being a force of good in this world. And thank you for choosing me as your father, because I know that honour is not one I take lightly.
Happy 21st Birthday. The world has no idea what's coming.
