ON VIEW Dario Wokurka 𝑆𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑠 Through May 23 “[In Dario Wokurka´s Work, the] ambivalence arising from deliberate selection and potential inscrutability also stems from the fact that the watercolours are produced following a conceptual premise that treats the source material more as visual data than as a compositional model: selected visual elements are systematically translated in modulated black brushstrokes on vertical A4 format. These painterly scores then lend themselves to a wide variety of activation in terms of format, colour, and support surface. Happy New Year! Here's some watercolours from the last two weeks

Windfang by Dario Wokurka Organised by Dominic Michel and Julia Künzi 16.11 - 17.11.24 at Ausstellungsstrasse 102 Zurich Photos by Flavio Karrer (…) A flat plinth made of rag rugs on the floor, watercolours as slides and their translations into originals on the wall. Wokurka renders these watercolours in a persistently casual manner, thus creating the visualization of a quasi-algorithm that appears incalculable from an outside perspective. A slideshow that through its surprising and its redundant moments both rewards and frustrates our viewing habits and expectations regarding pictures.
