Exactly one year ago today I was in Kodiak, Alaska. Contemplating everything in my life, isolated on the island, I made a pact with myself to write one song to end my years long struggle with writers block. Forcing myself to be brutally honest and confident in what I what I was feeling. All I had was my laptop and an acoustic guitar, less than an hour later I had the demo for a song called Freefall.
Recorded in February with Jackie Kalmink at The Stooge. Today I released the final version, along with the original demo, on all streaming platforms.
It’s been a tumultuous year in some regards but I’m just glad I made it out. Wouldn’t have been possible without my friends lifting me up and pushing me forward. You know who you are.
We are also playing our first show as a band this Saturday in Bay City at the 3rd Street Star Bridge with @peskykiddd@thastoop@lilblanket and @littlevisits . Free admission and we are on at 8pm sharp. Hope to see you there.
