This open and curious way of approaching and examining life has led to unique and practical solutions, which also has been the key to the Finnish well-being resulting in the happiest country in the world. Play creates space for curiosity, mistakes, and surprises.
In the Playroom, from textiles to furniture, materials become a medium for artistic exploration.

Durat’s striking, distinctive illusion of depth is achieved by mixing in crushed recycled plastic during production.
By adding Durat’s colour speckles, base colours can be used to create new colour combinations.
The colour speckles are made from production waste, such as offcuts. The Palace collection includes also speckles made from natural pigments.

We are a partner at the TEOS 2026 @teosvalitys - Art sales event with sculpture, printmaking, and photographic art.
Durat benches was brought to the event so people could sit down and take in the surrounding art. The colorful benches fit perfectly among the artworks.
Distinguished Raita bench was designed by Eeva Lithovius.
The Raita bench draws its inspiration from a piece of traditional Finnish rustic furniture: a simple wooden bench upholstered with a rag rug. Like the rags used to make the rug, Durat is also made using recycled materials, along with the offcuts from the factory.
It is also a part of the Architecture and Design Museum Helsinki's collections.

Throwback Tuesday to the case study @surfacematter did on our lovely AstraZeneca Sky Lounge.
We used @duratdesign to create curved bespoke surfaces, shelving and wayfinding within the scheme.
This blended creativity, durability and sustainability into this vibrant breakout space.

Durat @duratdesign on vuoden 2026 TEOS- teosvälitystapahtuman kumppani.

Taiteilija Villu Jaanisoo on tehnyt kalustevalmistukseen käytettävän Duratin leikkuupaloista näyttäviä teoksia, muun muassa Minna Canthin muotokuvan Kuopion kaupunginteatterin lämpiöön ja Kuukkelin Helsingin Kalasatamaan.

Designed for daily use, @shapebristol combine durability with a soft material palette. Warm cabinetry complementing @duratdesign worktops that provide a cohesive speckled texture in the colour P015.
A co-working kitchen that feels considered, practical and part of a wider transformation of the Guildhall Chambers in Bristol.
