Everything Everywhere All At Once Oscar winning director Daniel Kwan is teaming up with other Oscar winners to sound the alarm bell on Ai in a new documentary. Kwan believes this documentary can have the same impact that a previous generation of filmmakers had with a film called “The Day After” that depicted the day after Nuclear war. If you think that comparison seems a little overblown then you haven’t seen “The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist”. The film brings on doomers, optimists, and all the biggest names in Ai including Sam Altman, Dario Amodei, and Demis Hassabis. This film really shook our host @DangerGarrett , so watch along as the producers have a therapy session with him about if there’s a future for humanity. This Friday March 27th, @theaidocfilm opens in theaters across the U.S. Our latest episode of Your Undivided Attention podcast goes behind the scenes with the filmmakers to tell the story. I remember the dinner where Aza and I first sat down with Daniel Kwan and Jonathan Wang (the team behind "Everything Everywhere All at Once") and encouraged them to make a film about AI. Two and half years later, the result is a film that takes the full spectrum of views on AI — the promise, the peril, the competing ideologies, the economic incentives — and makes it all legible. At CHT, we say clarity creates agency. This film helps create that clarity. So listen to our conversation with the team behind the film, then go see it for yourself, and invite your friends, your family, your business, or your church group. The world changes when there's common knowledge about a crisis we we want to avoid, and the earliest sense of an alternative path that we can steer towards! Listen here: https://bit.ly/4by7kfW

Daniel Kwan (@dunkwun ) urges us to rethink how we imagine the future—especially the one we’re building with technology. Not just what’s possible, but what we owe the generations who come next. 🎤🎬 The future isn’t abstract. It’s human. 💪 THE AI DOC: OR HOW I BECAME AN APOCALOPTIMIST premiered Jan 27 at the 2026 #SundanceFilmFestival. #StoryForumMoments #AI #Documentary #Film

Quotes from many of the people who founded the @creatorsco_ai together. A lot of different people with different perspectives trying to help start a conversation to make sure we don’t continue down the default path. But this is just the beginning. The AI conversation shifts too quickly for a single fixed playbook. We need a clear set of common values to be our “north star” as we navigate the everchanging landscape. We plan to nail down specific demands during Phase 2, but the potential scope of our initiative includes the following core pillars (read more on our website linked in bio) We invite all individuals and organizations across all industries who share a concern for technology outpacing human safety to join us in co-creating a durable system for human and machine coexistence. We have spent over the past six months speaking to leadership and members from all the major hollywood unions, guilds, studios, and agencies to discuss how Al is impacting Hollywood. We recognize both the immense business potential of this technology and its capacity to unlock genuine creative progress. But without robust guardrails and shared standards, this rapid, uncoordinated deployment by major Al companies threatens to devalue creative labor, erode our trust in what we see and hear, and undermine human creativity itself. The Creators Coalition on Al (CCAI) is an agnostic convening organization, born from the necessity for a central hub for cross-industry discussions about how Al is impacting the entertainment industry. Over the last several months, we have worked to reach broad alignment on a set of principles for responsibly implementing Al across the entertainment industry and creative communities. This is not a full rejection of Al. The technology is here. This is a commitment to responsible, human-centered innovation. We believe humanity is creative enough to design a system that allows for the tech and creative industries to coordinate, collaborate, and flourish, but that will not happen by default. We must come together to redirect the current path and build a better system. Graphic design by: @decimal_studios

Some 3am thoughts on the recent Disney/OpenAI news. I know too much to try to stop this technology completely, but we must demand to be a part of the conversation in how this technology is used in our industry. This is not an anti-tech rant, this is a plea to not allow the tech industry to set the terms for our industry again.

Look, you’ve probably noticed I’ve been very annoying lately and won’t stop talking about AI. I’m sorry. But I can finally reveal to you all the reason why. I, along with an incredible team, have spent the last 3 years producing a documentary about AI. It is called THE AI DOC: OR HOW I BECAME AN APOCALOPTIMIST and follows the journey of one man’s descent into the madness of what is happening in silicone valley, as he tries to wrap his head around this incomprehensible topic. Our cohort has sat down and interviewed with most of the biggest players, leaders, engineers, ethicists, critics, and experts in the industry in order to do our best to condense this incredibly inscrutable, convoluted, anxiety inducing topic into something that is human, messy, and digestible so everyday people like you and me can engage with it head on. Our hope is it gives us all a way to get on the same page on what is happening, and more importantly what do we do about it. We will be premiering at @sundanceorg film festival and @focusfeatures will be releasing the film in March! Talk more soon!!!

This is just the beginning. Last week, 9 out of 10 Charter Commissioners voted to move forward with Rewrite LA’s proposal — paving the way for Angelenos to have a real seat at the table in shaping how our city is governed. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be rolling out ways for every Angeleno to weigh in on the topics that will shape our first Mini Assembly later this November. Stay tuned next week as we announce how you can vote on the issues, sign up to participate, and help rewrite LA’s future. Edited and Produced by: Valentina Garret and Rachel Lafond.
