Especially in the music business. Its a MEAN BUSINESS. No matter how hard I've tried for 15+ years, ya just cant please everyone. Rappers and people in the Hip Hop side of the music industry are some of the most emotional, ego-maniacle people on the planet, I'm no different lol. The more successful my company became, especially with the addition of TourForLife and the buzz it has brought us (I fully admit #TFL is a bigger brand than FBB at this point), the more BS comes up and 🙄 crap ya gotta deal with. Its soooooo many personalities. But with any business ya gotta have some order, or everything will go to shit. Trying to tell some of these rappers what to do is laughable bc of ego. Artists will literally sign agreements and do whatever they want regardless of what they signed..its like they dont even read what theyre signing. Venue owners can be such low-lifes. Best friends can go full weirdo on you overnight. Everyone wants a piece of whats popping, without putting in a fraction of the work it takes to be truly succesful. Other promoters will copy you, steal your ideas, try to platform-jack ya.. etc etc. Bottom line- when you're popping, people hate. Everyone is out for SELF. Also on #spotify 'You can't heal me' feat My very good friend @mslauramichelle_ As we continue the journey, today were at a very pivotal chapter- I was stable and the company was doing well.. I had been inspired since my days on Warped Tour where many activists and non profits were passionate about their causes, to do something that gave back.. I just wasnt sure exactly what cause I wanted to support. But after almost losing my life to someone having a mental breakdown and had been battling mental illness, a lifetime of my own mental health stuff mostly due to loss..and drugs.. then a friend in the music scene committed suicide and after some time processing that I knew what had to be done. I had to try to fight the mental health stigma and support suicide prevention. I also wanted to work with bigger-name artists, and give touring indie artists opportunities to open for major headliners on the road. I had a few close friends at the house for a bbq after the final warped tour run, and told them of my plan- I wasnt sure how I was gonna do it but I was going to partner with a non profit, raise money to book some big headliners and put 100% of the proceeds to the charity, whoever it was. I contacted many charity organizations in the mental health field- but the only one who gave me the time of day was @mentalhealthct . They agreed to partner with me and support whatever I was able to put together in its early stages. I got to work, raised a bunch of bread, booked Rittz, Brother Ali, and a few others. We were set to announce and take off. Then, covid hit. SMH. The year we had to put everything on hold was tough. Challenging was an understatement, but all my paperwork was good, we kept postponing untill we could launch. In that year, i kept raising money and was able to add the iconic RAKIM to the lineup. In 2021, we went on #TourForLife ..the rest is history! And we still at it! Weve had Ghostface, Onyx, G Rap, Rah Digga, Nems, and so many other legends. AND we About to announce headliners for #TfL24- our 4th year in a row! #duecebug #CThiphop

My new album 'The Questament' is a story of my entire music career. Each song is a chapter. Its out now on #bandcamp and today is #BANDCAMPFRIDAY !! 😯 THAT MEANS DO THE THING!! Link in bio! Track # is titled The Come Up and covers 2016-2020ish.. I got out the hood. I "retired" from full time rapper, as I had taken a job with the United Church of Christ a year or so prior, and it was going really well- I felt like I no longer needed to be a hip hop artist to pay my bills so why do something that stressed me out.. less touring meant a lot more time with my son, which i loved. I was happy, making good money, and had a bunch of other ideas to put into motion. I met a woman with 2 kids of her own, and did the happy family thing..moved into her house in Danbury.. I stared coaching little league. I started teaching a youth drum circle class. I started a punk/ska band called Dutty Winehouse. And i couldnt stop booking shows, i loved it too much, plus I had connects all over the country from touring independently for over 5 years straight.. So I turned what once was just a hip hop crew into a legitimate, legal business and started @fullblastbooking . This took some difficult sacrificing, and seriously sticking to the plan- which meant some pages had to be turned. But ultimately I shifted from pursuing a solo music career to putting other artists on tours/shows, running a business, etc. This was the true come up. I had a foundation to raise my son, and grow my company. A foundation of home. Thats what inspired this song, and this is the turning point of the album where i switch from past-tense story telling, to speaking currently. I wrote and recorded this song in real time..thats how long ive been working on this shit lol. I no longer live in Danbury, ended that 6-year relationship last spring. But this chapter and these years spent were so important to my and my companies growth. This is the only song off the album I have performed live- that will change soon!!
