The start of May shows that Summer is almost here. The flowers are all growing now, and the days are a little bit brighter. It’s fun to explore outside. Can you see the birds and butterflies in the sky? Let’s sing a May Day song together. #MakatonSignOfThe Week #DownsSyndromeScotland

Tickets for the fundraising concert of the year - SandFest 26 are now on sale! Featuring Down's Syndrome Scotland's Choir 21 and the incredible @thebluebellsglasgow this concert promises to be an unforgettable event. 📆Sunday, 25 October ⏰ Doors open at 6.30pm 📍@strathavenhotel South Lanarkshire SandFest has a special place for us: this concert curated by Katy Lironi and Douglas MacIntyre originated in their back garden in 2007 with the aim to fundraise for Down’s Syndrome Scotland. The Bluebells are great friends of Down’s Syndrome Scotland and Choir 21, with vocalist Ken McCluskey being a Down’s Syndrome Scotland ambassador and Ken and Douglas being patrons and regular performers with the Choir. This is the second time the concert is at the Stratheaven Hotel, after10 years at the Sandford Village Hall and an amazing show at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow. We hope to see you in October! Get your tickets by visiting fundraising events on our website. #SandFest26 #Choir21 #DownsSyndromeScotland

We are a bit late with this but we would like to thank everyone who came to support the evening of horticultural conversation we held in January @oldschoolthornhill in support of @dsscotland . We were looking back at the Down’s Syndrome Scotland Garden, so generously sponsored an supported by @project.giving.back that we designed for the the @the_rhs Chelsea Flower Show last year and also had a very interesting chat with @francestophill about her wonderful book A Wildflower Year. We managed to raise £1,758 for Down’s Syndrome Scotland to support people with Down’s syndrome across Scotland. Thank you to everyone who attended, bought tickets, raffle tickets and made donations. Thanks also to these people who provided all sorts of amazing things without charging us properly or gifting, which really helped us to raise the money. We are so grateful to everyone. - @francestophill for for taking time out of her busy schedule to support our event - @oldschoolthornhill for hosting and helping to organise the event - @houseofcarrickshop who gifted wine for the evening - @chaptersthornhill who donated some of the proceeds from France’s book and a book for the raffle - @trikos_deli who provided some beautiful food - @sparrowandco for donating a beautiful piece for the raffle - @francesprieststudio for also donating a beautiful piece for the raffle - @locharthurcamphillcommunity for donating a lovely hamper for the raffle - John Dinning from Sound Travels for providing sound and tech support - Sandy Sweetman from SW Audio for setting up the live stream You can still watch the event on YouTube and do consider making a donation to @dsscotland . Their work is so vital and funding so hard to come by and any support is always greatly appreciated.
