On the 13th episode of Drum Workout tomorrow, we’re joined by Pino Peña @pinolinoo - head of the forward-thinking label W133 and resident at Schimmer Records. Now based in Berlin, Pino brings a raw, genre-blending sound shaped by early days in punk bands and DJing as part of Bone X Zone with his dad. His sets and productions dive into techno, house, breaks, and everything in between - with nods to punk, jazz, hip-hop, and psych rock. He’s released on 3024, Ri7mo, Glukkon, Lo Fidelity, and more, and also hosts a bi-monthly show on THF Radio while staying active in Berlin collectives Coppi and Open Tiny Records. Episode 12 - DJ JM So stoked to introduce that tomorrow on @area3000.radio we are joined by @dj__jm at 12PM AEST. DJ JM’s journey through the ever-changing European club scene paints a picture of an artist who is constantly innovating his sound and pushing musical boundaries. Originally from Vilnius, Lithuania, but based in London, he made an early mark on the UK club scene in the late 2010s, collaborating with the likes of TSVI, Wallwork and NKC. Known for his rhythmically complex and sample-heavy tracks, DJ JM has released music on renowned labels such as Nervous Horizon, Even The Strong, Goon Club Allstars and Maloca Records. Earlier this year, he released the critically acclaimed EP Barrakuda on Nervous Horizon. He is currently working on his new release “moov” on Turbo Recordings. Joining us in the cave next Friday at Chinese Laundry we welcome 3 mainstays in Sydney’s underground music scene: miss behave miss behave is a regular fixture in Eora’s underground scene, known for her thoughtful selections and appreciation for a diverse array of sounds. Her sets invite listeners into unfamiliar spaces typically grounded in both playful and murky psychedelic sounds. SPENG A fixture of Eora's rave scene, SPENG has been long celebrated for his iconic photography and documentation of the underground. His unique perspective on electronic music, events and underground culture translates into electrifying sets, seamlessly blending breakbeat, prog and techno. Pixel Chick Based in Eora, Pixel Chick is known to create a vibrant dance floor experience. She explores sounds that are melodic and textural, but likes to keep things playful - embracing flirty trance, progressive house and glitchy tech, often layered with some sparkly hypnotic patterns and wobbly bass. A lover of timeless anthems and lush electronica, her zesty tone has seen her support artists like Job Jobse, Surusinghe, and Sally C.
