I have been working out from home for long enough to give you some real feedback, and while I know it’s not for everyone, I know for some it’s the only option. I know it was for me when I started, with busy jobs, kids etc, it’s the only way I could create habits that would stick. When you’re ready, it happens, and of course it takes commitment, consistency and regular motivation. But the first step is building that habit, however small, once it’s hardwired, things get easier. When the motivation wavers, the habits kick in. As I always say, it’s not about 6 packs and visible muscles but about functional strength. Strength that takes you beyond the workout space and provides longevity in life xxx Are you building good habits in 2026?

Daal with added greens (Palak Daal) 120g Spinach 3 ripe tomatoes 3 cloves garlic 1 cup mung daal (yellow lentils) 5 cups water 1/4 tsp turmeric 2 tbsp oil 1/2 tsp mustard seeds 1 finely shopped shallot 1/2 tsp cumin seeds 1/4 tsp asafoetida 1/2 tsp ground cumin 1/2 tsp ground coriander 1 clove of finely sliced garlic 1/2 inch piece of ginger grated 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1 tbsp tomato puree Salt to taste Large Handful of chopped Dill Lemon Butter 1. Wash, rinse and soak the mung daal in plenty of water for 2 hours 2. You can either pressure cook it or boil it on stove top, pressure cooking takes about 10 minutes vs stove top cooking will take about 30 minutes. I also recommend you soak the daal for much longer if you chose to stove top cook without pressure cooker. To boil it, add the drained mung daal to a pan with 5 cups of cold water and a pinch of turmeric and salt and bring to boil, and let this simmer until the daal softens completely. If pressure cooking, place same mixture in your pressure cooker, bring to a boil, then pressure cook for 5 minutes (follow your pressure cooker /instantpot guidelines) 3. Add your spinach, tomatoes (quartered) and 3 garlic cloves to a chopper/blender, and blend with a 1/3 cup of water until a choppy pulp forms. 4. Heat a pan and add the oil, once hot add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida and shallots and finely chopped garlic. Let this sizzle and then add the tomato puree, ginger, turmeric powder, coriander powder and ground cumin powder and mix well. Let this cook for a minute or so 5. Now add the garlicky spinach and tomato pulp to the hot pan and mix well, and let this simmer. 6. Check the daal, it should be soft and almost mushy. Add this to the hot pan. And mix well 7. Add chopped dil, and a large spoon of butter. Check salt and add a squeeze of lemon juice. Enjoy

The chances are she’s already been quite tough on herself 🫠 I know sometimes it comes from a good place, but idle passing comments can be easily misinterpreted Mums are a vulnerable group, and I strongly feel it takes a supportive community to raise mum and child. It really does take a village.

We talk a lot about “glow” in skincare but real, healthy-looking skin is about more than just radiance. From a dermatology perspective, it comes down to two key things: ✨ Even skin tone ✨ Smooth skin texture And those are driven by very different processes in the skin. Vitamin C has long been one of the most well-studied ingredients for supporting brightness, improving the appearance of pigmentation and providing antioxidant protection. Glycolic acid, on the other hand, works by accelerating cell turnover , helping to refine texture and reveal fresher, more luminous skin. What’s interesting is when you bring those two mechanisms together in one step , targeting both tone and texture at the same time, without overcomplicating your routine. This is where formulations like the Murad Vita-C Glycolic Serum come in, combining a stabilised Vitamin C complex with glycolic acid, and clinically shown to improve brightness and smoothness in just 2 weeks. If dullness, uneven tone or lack of radiance are your concerns, it’s always worth thinking about whether your routine is targeting both pathways. AD @muradskincareuk

Once they sizzle, add the garlic and fry until golden brown. Add the remaining turmeric for 5 seconds, then pour the sizzling tarka over the daal. 5. Serve: Fold in fresh coriander and serve over rice with a boiled egg for a complete protein hit.
