🔊🔊🔊 chapel drone returns Saturday May 23! This month, St. Catharines wordsmith Sahar Saeidi will take us on an interior journey, accompanied by the soft flow of Hamilton’s Star Shaped Bead. And multi-instrumentalist Colin Fisher is coming down from Toronto to let us in on his sonic monologue. Come join us and chill out with these talented artists. Rather than the musicians performing to visuals, the visuals take the lead - selected from a pool of rare found footage and are paired with the performers. Where a mass of reels, tape, tracks, discs, cartridges, and files reside. Deep cuts that can be rare, unseen, unwanted, or discarded… a fascinating collection of rare, sometimes jarring footage. This is your chance to see what he has unearthed. CATHARINES } drōntet is a semi-improvisational guitar/violin duo that incorporates loops, drones and resonant textures to create layered walls of sound @alexivanring and @chill_chillerson 💉BARBARIC SLAPTONNE { HAMILTON } @babette_laflail tortures, taunts, and pleases the body of their guitar interplaying with rare 1930s adult film projections by JC. Minimal industrial experimental noise set. @barbaricslaptonne JC Culp (they/them) has been mounting underground film and video screenings for 30 years. Their “Satan Macnuggit Video Road Show” toured Canada twice (2001/2003), and they were a 16mm film programmer at Toronto’s Trash Palace for 11 years. Also a filmmaker and musician (Diddlyshit). Babette de Jong (she/they) born in Hamilton, immersed in local music (& film or fashion). Events since 2004, and musician with an affinity for dark/experimental. Art by Babette.

‼️EMULSIONAL RESCUE‼️ 📽️ SHOW SERIES LAUNCH 🔊 On Feb 19, we’ll be joining up with Toronto experimental noise duo @sacred.wound and Hamilton noise artist @doghat_music for an all-enveloping night of explorative sounds and rare film footage under the guidance of Grand Imperator of Vibes @honeyboiler and Chief Reel-Slinger @unpopular_arts_jc This new series will pair performers with a selection of films in what could be described as inverted film scores, where visuals take the lead, offering a range of moods, themes and topics.
