Start the weekend with a trip to the Drumm Farm Market tomorrow morning! We have a great lineup of farm-fresh produce, plus we'll have plenty of cinnamon rolls for you to enjoy.
It's been a wonderful week on the farm, with so many updates to share! Spring always means we have newborn animals, and this week we welcomed piglets and lambs. We also had some help planting a Three Sisters Garden thanks to some awesome volunteers from @rconursing . A Three Sisters Garden is a method created by indigenous peoples which involves planting corn, then beans, then squash -- creating the perfect environment for all three crops to thrive.
Young adults working on the farm have been hard at work planting potatoes, which we can't wait to share with you later this season. We hope to see you tomorrow morning for another wonderful Drumm Farm Market!

It’s been a gorgeous week on the farm, and we’re looking forward to a fantastic Saturday morning at the Drumm Farm Market!
The young adults working on the farm have helped put together a variety of produce for you to choose from, in addition to building raised beds for more veggies to grow this Market season. During this project, they found a surprise — a Killdeer bird’s nest in the middle of the field! Of course, they worked around the nest so mama bird can take care of her eggs in peace. Construction of the new hay barn continues! It’s been incredible to see the teamwork that’s gone into assembling what will become the newest building on the farm. With guidance from experienced staff, young adults working on the farm learn through collaboration. What better way to do that than by putting together a gigantic puzzle?

It’s feeling a lot like spring at Drumm Farm! From planting delicate herbs to hauling straw for the animals, the youth working on the farm are going above and beyond to ensure wonderful harvests in the weeks and months to come. All the while, they’re learning valuable job skills to help them build bright futures.

Spring may not be far away but, for now, winter is here to stay — and keeping the Drumm Farm greenhouses warm calls for collaboration and ingenuity!
Today, Drumm young adults working on the farm prepared an additional sidewall for the high tunnel greenhouse, which will help prevent frost damage to produce. As usual, Ronald the farm cat was on hand for some much appreciated moral support.
