Experimental Driving

Driving footage gathered while getting paid doing delivery in the triangle, NC, and on 2 of NC's scenic byways: The Blue Ridge Parkway in the West, and Cape Hattaras National Seashore in the East.
The idea was to create landscape art that reflected our typical experience of the landscape through driving. The irony of course is that this typical way of experiencing the landscape is in part contributing to making the environment more difficult to live in and experience in general.
this tension of how our desire for travel to experience, is in part making it less easy to experience for future generations, was the underlying inspiration for this work.
With the footage gathered, i created from documents of the area's visual identity in 2024, ideas expressing: dreams, the ideal, optical sensation, and environmental concerns.
Driving NC
Some clips stitched together from the past month of editing driving NC for an exhibit in May. Do you think I should make shorter or longer reels?

Study of Chapel Hill and the North Carolina landscape captured while driving
If you have any suggestions for locations in NC I should checkout comment or DM. So far I've documented the landscape of the triangle, Cape Hatteras, and The Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway while driving.

I took over 1,000 photos in 24 hours on a road trip from Texas to Colorado and back using an iPhone 4 on rapid fire mode. The goal was to capture the breathtaking landscape that left me in awe. To make the most of the photos, I created loops, which helped convey the endless feeling of the journey, transforming photographs into moving images.
I plan to package and exhibit this collection in a moving picture frame @tagarthp opening May 14th
