I’m filming in Ireland right now and whenever I come here I am always brought back to the beginning of my career, which was the movie, Circle Of Friends. The dearest Maeve Binchy and the great director Pat O’Connor gave me a place and a start in film. I love this movie so much and I guess there is some conflict with rights in a particular area of the film that has prevented it from being available pretty much anywhere. I wish @universalpictures could figure it out because I’m inundated daily by people asking how they can watch it and I wish I could tell them. I took this beautiful role because this woman, Sarah, speaks not only to a spiritual experience but to a human one also. The humanity of women and their stories are often lost within the patriarchal renderings of ancient texts ; it is a wonderful thing to have been part of truly giving them a voice in the present.
