At long last, this day has finally arrived! This afternoon I officially became a graduate of The University of Western Australia. Bachelor of Arts with two majors, Communication and Media Studies & Law and Society.
It has been a long, tough yet fulfilling journey that I’m glad I persisted despite the adversity and barriers whilst equally grateful for the beautiful moments and friendships made along the way. Can’t wait to see what the universe has in store for me!
Give light, love and positivity and it’ll return tenfold! 💚💜 #UWA #UWAGraduate #DeafGraduate #Perth #Deafcando #milestone

NAATI PD Points Category 1.5
For those of you in Melbourne on Saturday 2nd May 2026, I hope to see you all at my presentation, bye.
Do you use interpreters? Are you an interpreter or translator? This video is for you - tip about the NAATI directory for finding interpreters based on state/territory.
Update your profile to make it easier for people to find your name/details!
✨Auslan Transcript ✨
Hello, for those of you who are Deaf community members, and interpreters, this quick Auslan video is for you!
NAATI website is great, because you can search for interpreters in your state/territory. Or if you’re like me and travel for work interstate, the directory helps me find the interpreter I had in mind.
NAATI recently updated their website and it looks really good, however, there is an issue. Before, I could select WA and there would be lots of interpreters that comes up, but now, only a few.
I work as a Deaf interpreter too so I had a look at my profile and worked out the reason why.
When you go into MyNAATI portal - this is only for those of you who work as a Deaf interpreter, hearing interpreter or translators. Your details are hidden except for your name and your credentials. As a heads up, edit the setting so that your state shows up. Not the full address, or for everything to be completely hidden.
Click where it says the state only, for example, Vic, WA, SA, QLD etc, once that is updated, check out the directory and your profile will come up for that specific state. I.e. search for DIs in specific state, it’ll come up, same goes for hearing (Auslan) interpreters.
I recommend for those of you who are Deaf interpreters, hearing interpreters and translators to update that part of your profile, helping the rest of us to be able to find interpreters’ names quickly and get in touch with them! Bye.
Joining the contents creators bandwagon…. nah! But trying my hand at editing with Instagram reels/edits.
Sharing a little bit of insight into my health. Captions in the video itself.
Still learning about the whole editing process, will reach out with suggestions for tips and advice.
Long story short, look after yourself and spot the subtle signs!
