There’s something special about the bar industry and I am so happy to say I know a few of them. Recently, I took my son out to celebrate his milestone birthday, and started the night out at Kavita. The food, excellent. But really, why did we pick this restaurant over so many in the city? Kabir. That’s why. We’ve met him at other restaurants and he is a joy, and it is neat to learn he is buddies with other industry folks we’ve met. Go to Kavita, sit at the bar. Kabir will take care of you and while the food will blow your mind, so will the drinks and his hospitality.
Next stop: Nomo Nomo. And if you don’t know, now you know playa. I don’t know Wayne and the team well, but they are buds with Kabir and Josh, so they automatically get a gold star from us. Again. SIT AT THE BAR. Can you hear me in the back row? These fellas are a treat and the banter with them is EVERYTHING.

Brought to you by @cookingwithben_@drinkingwithwayne (from Vancouver’s beloved @thelunchlady ), the highly anticipated izakaya brings a little slice of Tokyo snack bar culture into Vancouver’s little Italy, ‘the Drive’.
With a menu that’s playful, Nomo Nomo aims to bring the fun back into Vancouver drinking scene, serving cocktails that are highly influenced by Japanese flavours and ingredients but keeping the laidbackness of the West Coast.
The room is intimate (as how an izakaya should be) and filled with little Japanese trinkets and artworks, the food is shareable and snackable (the prawn toast served on Chinese donut and the Iberico pork tomahawk with apple kimchi are not to be missed) and the drinks by @fromthewanderer (ex. Keefer) and his all-star team (including @amkong20 and @__taradavies )are highly crushable — careful with the no-ice highball program that go down quite easily 😉
