As a club DJ his sound has many sides, tastefully integrating a wide variety of styles together such as dub, electro, trip-hop, and anything out of left-field. Icky Magdala is a Montreal-based DJ and producer with a career spanning nearly two decades. Originating from the city’s underground scene, she finds refuge in sound system culture. Drawing upon a deep affection for different subgenres—with heavy emphasis on bass and drum lines—the avid vinyl records collector navigates through dub, jungle, drum & bass, hip hop, and acid techno. When she isn’t DJing, playing live sets or curating events, Icky Magdala continues to expand her sonic vision with her project Bridges to Dub. Her mission: spreading the music and good vibes. Nashville-native and research supervisor of UK-focused night ‘U-TURN’, Raef has found a way into the Montreal circuit through a multitude of styles and UK-inspired grooves, becoming a consistent presence at bars and raves around the city. Raef discovered solace in the rave scene of a city preoccupied with country music and is ready to bring some southern flavor. Formerly the music librarian and frequent host at CKUT radio, Raef explored music of all genres and now incorporates a range of frequencies into each set. Emil is a Montreal-born DJ and vinyl digger inspired by the raw energy of UK club culture. From bumpy oldskool UK garage to bass-heavy dubstep and vibrant tech house, his sets blend groove, swing, and deep low-end pressure. A regular presence in the local underground, he’s actively involved with his collectives Moodswings and Garage à Trois, helping cultivate community-driven dancefloor experiences.
