Peter Gast x De Kleine 3 Fonteine x BÄCKEREI. A very special day for us. We were invited by Chef @peter_gast_ – a 20 year Michelin-starred chef from the Netherlands – to experience his new collaboration with De Kleine 3 Fonteine in Tulbagh - @dekleine.3fonteine What they’ve created is something very unique. 🏔️ The experience is designed as a long, slow lunch that takes you across the farm – from snacks, to cold dishes, to warm courses – each served in a different setting, always paired with exceptional wines by winemaker Weynand Grobler who runs the farm together with his wife Anja Grobler 🍷 From oysters with green apple and gin tonic granite, to tartlet with hamachi and ponzu, to dishes like lamb with pumpkin and aubergine or beetroot with asparagus and beurre blanc – every course felt thoughtful, seasonal, and deeply connected to the place. It’s not just about food; it’s about moving through the landscape, discovering different spaces, and experiencing flavour in a very intentional way. We’re especially proud to be part of this by supplying our BÄCKEREI sourdough bread. Seeing our bread integrated into such a refined and thoughtful concept means a lot to us. The food experience will officially open to the public in October 2026 – and with beautiful accommodation on the farm, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to stay a little longer. De Kleine Wijn Finds a Place of Its Own. Beautifully Realised. De Kleine Wijn has settled into a new home, one that feels entirely aligned with the wines themselves. There is an effortless sense of alignment here, where expansive mountain views, the residency of Michelin starred chef Peter Gast, and beautifully considered luxury farm accommodation sit comfortably alongside one another. Nothing competes, everything supports. Anya and Wynand Grobler have, over time, built something distinctly their own. A label shaped from exceptional sites across the Cape Winelands, expressed in Afrikaans with wit, individuality and a clear point of view. Each wine carries its own identity, yet the collection remains cohesive. Recognisable. Considered. The details, from the labels to the stories they tell, are deliberate and often quietly playful. The wines are where the focus rests. Award winning, yes, but more importantly grounded in integrity. They favour precision over excess, character over volume. Yesterday we had the privilege of experiencing a beautifully curated afternoon centred around Chef Peter Gast’s residency at De Kleine Wijn just outside Tulbagh. With 22 Michelin stars awarded over the course of his career and known for his refined, produce-led approach and remarkable career across some of Europe’s most respected kitchens, Chef Peter Gast brought a thoughtfulness and excellence to every dish he prepared. We had welcome drinks among the vines, a beautiful seasonal lunch, barrel tasting in the cellar, and a first look at De Kleine’s guest accommodation.
