my mug for Pa|estine has been out of the kiln for a bit and is ready to be shared. if you love this mug and hunger for justice, please read on to find out how you can have a chance to have it in your home. since October the world has been watching a gen0cide unfold on their screens. Israhell has been dropping b0mbs indiscriminately (over 5,000 to date) on civilian populations jn the tiny strip of land that was left to them in their homeland. nearly half of that population has now been displaced to an even smaller piece of desert and they are currently living in tents, waiting in line for hours for water, food, and medical supplies that are extremely limited and hard to come by. we have still yet to see real progress made toward a ceasefire, and our government is absolutely complicit in the 3thnic cleansing of the Pa|estinian people. it is not about H4m4s and never has been—it is simply an excuse. this is not new. this has been happening for nearly a century. I am a firm believer in the power of art as solidarity, as a voice for liberation to shift culture and create pressure to change circumstances for the betterment of the world. if you feel the same (and I hope you do if you’re one of my followers) I would love to give you an opportunity to acquire this mug. I will be hosting a raffle to give this piece away to someone in the coming weeks. my only conditions are that: 1. you give a donation (or multiple) to a humanitarian cause that is actively working to get aid to Pa|estinians in the midst of this crisis 2. you are committed to the use and display of this piece as an act of solidarity and to help host conversations about the atr0cities being committed in Gaża and the surrounding areas. if you would like to be considered for the giveaway, please donate to a Pa|estinian cause and send a screenshot of your donation to my DMs, along with best contact info for the drawing and a short statement about your commitment to action and solidarity. I will make another post when I get close to drawing a name so that people will have time to get their entry in before the drawing happens (each donation/screenshot sent will count as its own entry). After the immigration raids at the end of last year, @action.nc called all #charlottenc creatives to come together and respond. What came out of that was We Are the Web, a new Action NC committee formed to respond to the aftermath of Operation Charlotte's Web. Last week, for May Day weekend, @clt_boom invited us to have a table in solidarity with the May 1 workers and immigrants march. So @drewfosterstudio organized a table to talk to people about the initiative and recruit more people. Check out this amazing WE ARE THE WEB piece he is working on! More photos of WATW creatives and their works coming soon! We invite more Charlotte creatives to join the movement! As we all know, art and culture are always at the forefront of all successful movements! To join the effort, PM @action.nc or @hectorvacacruz ! #seeingvoices #communityunheard #artasresistance #artivism Isn't this

holding it together in a fascist capitalist hellscape but I got pots🤪 come see me at Bart’s Mart tonight from 6pm to close! I’ll be there with a bunch of other local artists so come get some last minute gifts and shop small. even if you can’t buy anything, just come out to hang! thanks to @theslugpit for putting this together! swipe to see the disaster that these cups were before I took them to the grinder—hate accidents, but love when they fit the energy🤣

On October 11, 2022, I came out publicly and for the last time. Yesterday marked that 3-year anniversary and happened to coincide with this year’s fall festival. I have said it before: to say I’m overwhelmed is an understatement. I can never express adequately the gratitude I have in my heart for the support I’ve received and connections I’ve made in the last three years. You make this all possible. Every piece purchased, every conversation, every hug that gets passed around is an encouragement for me to keep moving forward. I get to make pots and live this life loud and proud, and I will never get over that. Thank you. ALSO if you bought a zine yesterday (written by me and my better half @erin_heather ) THANK YOU!! I got to send a friend of mine $160 for her gender-affirming surgery. She says thank you as well💜

Being able to finally work from home is such a gift. After countless late nights spent at the studio to finish long days and hot busy summers, this sale season has some ease to it. My wife and my fur baby are both in arms reach, and the weather is magical right now. My only complaint is that I’m not sure if I’ll be able to actually get anything done—there is a nose that always needs boopin and I can’t deny the boops. The guild show is less than a month away! Mark your calendars for October 11!

Huge celebration happening this week because I am finally the proud owner of a pottery wheel!!!! I’ve been working in clay for eight years and for the first time ever I can finally throw and make pots from my home. I love my community studios and my ceramics people, but I have spent way too many late nights away from my babies and my wife to make work that I can sell, and this is going to make our lives so much easier. There’s definitely a learning curve, mainly with figuring out the best way to prep my clay on our little balcony, controlling drying time, and how to work around all of the noises from neighbors, but this is a super exciting development and we’re just going to roll with the punches. I do need to show my gratitude—none of this would have been possible without the opportunity from @carolinaclaymatters guild to showcase and sell my work, the community at @clayworksclt for letting me know that there was a wheel looking for a home, and everyone who has purchased a piece from me over the last couple of years. You guys continue to make my dreams come true and I can’t thank you enough for that. And don’t worry, this doesn’t mean you’ll see me any less at my places of operation—you’ll still see me A LOT—just not past 10pm🤣 Till the next update!

Sneak peek of the work I’ll have at Camp North End tomorrow! This kiln load is very stormy compared to my last batch, which I’m thrilled about. But the best part? As I was unloading, thunder was rolling at the perfect moments. Ah, serendipity. Come see me at the Carolina Clay Matters show in the Ford Building from 10am to 5pm!

just a lil studio update from me and my clay! this teapot (along with my very first one) is currently living at the North Carolina Pottery Center in Seagrove for the upcoming ECU showcase “A Cuppa.” Trans Day of Visibility came and went this year for me without too much celebration, but it marked my second anniversary on testosterone. The past two years have been some of the best of my life, and a lot of it is thanks to medication and a community of potters, friends, and others who have only been supportive and uplifting in my experiences. I am grateful that I get to live this life. We only want to live. Let us live. “Let Us Have (T)ea.” 2025.
