Took a little trip to Emerald City, had to resurrect the feed 🧙♀️🫧
eternally grateful to my guardian angel Josie and captain Tom for bringing me on a week of 2nd Unit earlier this year.
it’s one of the most exciting things I’ve had the honour to be part of, and even if briefly, it fills me with so much joy to have witnessed the love and dedication poured into this set.
happy Wicked week! 💚🩷

no sap, tiny recap.
ever so grateful to the friends, mentors and kind strangers who shared this insane year with me.
hadn’t really looked back until i put this post together and what the fuck! love you all! so much.
more power to you, to us, to our art. our stories! to liberation. to the healing of wounds too deep to explain. to strong hearts and strong minds. to the joy that is found in the smallest of things.
i said no sap? i lied heh

uuuuuuh first on screen credit check?!!!
Starstruck S3 is out and aaaaall the memories are flooding back in: shooting in -5 degrees, daily scraps with the Serv, an insulting amount of stairs in half the locations, overly meticulous century slates and spectacular overnight oats from catering!!
my first camera trainee job on long form and i have to thank my captains 🫡 @lali_coombes , @bencurranis1984 & @hanke_dop for trusting this lil ol’ stranger to get on board their already solid dynamic.
i am an infinitely better AC because of these incredibly talented people and this set - learning so much in a relatively short amount of time is really the stuff dreams are made of. also free breakfast every day.
Available now on BBC iPlayer and BBC One from Friday!
pushing through the ick for posting - with a stunning still from @morganonthegram - to tell you I’m available for hire through May and the rest of summer!
lemme pet your builds and bring you only the finest cup of coffee (treats included). you won’t regret having this lil italian on your camera team 😘🤌
“It breaks my heart to see that we are still fighting the same battles our parents, our grandparents, and those with them fought too.” - Bologna 2020
Yesterday was my first time seeing Black folks holding the reigns of a conversation this big in Italy, with the entire square sat down and listening. It was beautiful and hit hard, but so, so inspiring and made me proud of my hometown.
I wish I could tell you that’s the whole story and that everyone was silently listening, but reality’s a bitch: people picking apart arguments because of political terms not coming across, invalidating points because “if she talks about taxes then she’s also gotta...”, ultimately taking the microphone and robbing Black voices of their time only to claim “color doesn’t matter”. Not to mention the white woman asking her friend in a disturbingly loud volume to hold her from making homophobic remarks... during goddamn Pride Month.
So let me stress it again- as much as it warmed me to see all kinds of people showing up to support: there is still so much work that needs to be done. So much to educate each other on. So much to learn and unlearn.
I see the good intentions in all of us, I do.
BUT LET BLACK PEOPLE SPEAK, LET THE TEACHING COME FROM THOSE WHOSE VOICES HAVE NEVER BEEN HEARD. Shut up and fucking listen. Questions are legitimate but the willing to actively work towards anti-racism is our responsibility.
Please let’s not forget about this once the hype dies down. Please let’s keep reminding each other.
Eyes forward. Because we’re in for the long haul.
History shows us that change doesn’t happen overnight, but that it is inevitable and it is coming ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻
Pride was a riot first.
It was anti-cop. Bloody, violent and gruesome.
Led and fronted by Black trans women and Black lgbt folks.
Yet Black trans lives are often left out of the conversation on police violence. Even when they’re subjected to the most unreported beating, murder and discrimination than any other group.
The work is not done.
The huge anti-blackness, racism and transphobia issues still ingrained in many in the LGBTQIA+ community are proof of that.
THERE IS NO QUEER LIBERATION,
WITHOUT BLACK LIBERATION.
NONE OF US ARE FREE UNTIL ALL OF US ARE FREE.
NO LIVES MATTER UNTIL ALL #BLACKLIVESMATTER AND #BLACKTRANSLIVESMATTER TOO.
Pride Month doesn’t put a stop to this, it ignites the fuck out of it. The time for revolution has been calling from before we were alive, happy Pride. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻🏳️🌈
happy Earth day frens! 🌿
I have always felt like the issues I care about take space in my mind the same way as a browser with way too many tabs open. The one concerning our planet being the tab constantly popping up with random sound on, too damn loud, impossible to find or close without shutting everything down. & i know like- your browser might be overloading at the moment (i know mine is) and sustainability/worrying about it might be the last thing you’d consider.
But wonder about where you wanna turn to now that the space available to us is limited: the grass you can’t feel, the flowers you can’t smell and the ocean you can’t swim in.
Remember after all of this is done, one way or another our choices (even the smallest ones) are still gonna catch up to us.
Question today was “What does HOPE look for you right now?”. And I think the only immediate answer that came to mind was for me, for all of us, to go back to feeling this free as soon as possible. Sweaty, gross, and supporting each other while our hearts vibrate to the same frequency.
I know I’m not the only one.
And if you’re like me, I hope you’re holding on.
See you in the pit.
Took at @caseytheband very last secret set in May.

Get up; walk to the bathroom; walk to the living room and say hi to my parents; walk into the kitchen to eat; walk out to the garden, bathe in the sun until it’s up; walk back inside; either cry for a bit or find something to keep myself distracted; back into bed.
Repeat.
And repeat.
And repeat again.
Yes I drew the actual floor plan of the house I have been quarantining at. These are the exact walls and 150ish square meters my life has been restricted to for the last month (i know people have a lot less, i’m privileged my parents have worked their whole lives for it). Each space exudes a different feeling, they’re no longer just rooms.
Described here are the only steps I am allowed to take daily, in the new reality I am confined to.
Thought to try something a tad different and out of my comfort zone for this one. Heavily inspired by @verenasmit and the Marauder’s Map in Harry Potter, prompted by @anastasia.tasou for #anastasiaday3 on the theme of “RIGHT NOW”.
“And I will not compare other beauty to mine.
And I will not become a thorn in my own side.
And I will not return to where I once was.
Well I can break through the earth,
come up soft and wild.”

Ah, the fact that this piece is intrinsically so many others fills my heart in ways I can’t even explain. Eternally grateful for the art and the incredible women behind it.

It wasn’t instant. I’ve trained to swim up from my thoughts and pause, recharge, before tackling them.
I’ve been good at it.
I think the worst part was the never ending buildup, the sensation of gradual drowning inside the brain.
Not having the time to gasp for air, in a tank that never stops filling. Losing energy to keep swimming upwards.
It wasn’t instant. It took weeks and looking back, to realize I never experienced anything of this weight before.
From the binder of feelings that the past month has sparked, think this one encompasses most of it.
In hope you’re all staying afloat ♥️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
