One more show! Catch Firehorse 2026, part of Co. ERASGA’s Undivided Colours (Asian Heritage Month), tonight (May 15th 8pm) at The Dance Centre (677 Davie St, Vancouver)! Tickets here (and in our bio): /en-CA/ticketing/undivided-colors—2026  Note from Andrea: I was born in 1966, a Fire Horse year in the Chinese zodiac’s 60-year cycle, where animal and element intertwine to shape a life.  In this Firehorse year of 2026, as I complete the circle of 60 years, I find myself dancing a solo that is related to a larger collection of matrilineal work, Firehorse and Shadow, that I have been co-creating with collaborators Annie Katsura Rollins, Sarah Chase, Cindy Mochizuki, and composer Ben Grossman.  This new solo moves through time as I do, weaving memory with the present, tracing echoes from past choreography that remain in my body.  It is a quiet act of remembering and becoming, and one more way of bringing to light the often-unspoken experiences of Chinese Canadian women. Choreographer and Performer: Andrea Nann Creative Collaborator: Sarah Chase Creative Producer: Kelsi James @kelsilindajames Composer and Sound Designer: Ben Grossman @ben_macrophone Lighting Designer: Jessica Han @puddinghead9 Production Manager: A.J. Morra @salad_chronicles Firehorse and Shadow Collaborators: Cindy Mochizuki @cindy_mochizuki , Annie Katsura Rollins @anniekrollins Outside Eyes: Kay Huang Barnes and Kelsi James @kelsilindajames   Undivided Colours is a mixed program of dance Celebrating Asian Heritage Month 2026.  Featuring: Co.ERASGA (@co.erasga , @alvinerasgat ), Andrea Nann/Dreamwalker, Sujit Vaidya, Kasandra La China (@kasandraflamenco ) and Bayanihan Creative Collective (@bayanihan.victoriabc ).   Photos by Luciana Photography @lucianaphotography_vancouver Image Descriptions provided in Alternative Text Feature

If the piece were a soundscape, performer Jia Yi (Judy) describes it as: a knock, as wind passing by, as a rooster call. If a painting, its colour palette would be: mature bamboo green, new sprout leaf green, irrigated dirt brown, almost white blue, and deep sea blue. 💙 Come sense it for yourself – April 30th to May 3rd at Morrow (#204 - 910 Richards St), as part of asian heritage month at morrow with @oddmeridianarts .
