The Distillery District is set to welcome a brand-new Ontario Line station, marking an exciting milestone for one of Toronto’s most iconic neighbourhoods as tunnelling officially gets underway.
This progress represents a major step in the province’s transit expansion plans and will bring fast, reliable transit service directly to the heart of the Distillery District. As part of this advancement, the new station—formerly referred to as Corktown Station—has been officially named Distillery Station, reflecting the area’s cultural, historical, and economic significance.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Frank Gehry: a visionary, a boundary-breaker and a proud Torontonian whose work reshaped cities around the world. He was always a loyal and proud Canadian, and a distinguished member of the Order of Canada.
It has been an honour to collaborate with him on Forma, his tallest creation, and a remarkable return to the city where his story began. In every sketch, every conversation, and every bold gesture of the project, Frank reminded us that architecture is not simply about building, but about dreaming and daring to make those dreams real.
As our Forma tower rises, it will stand as a living tribute to his brilliance, his courage, and his enduring legacy. We are profoundly grateful to have played a small part in carrying forward the vision of a person whose influence will be felt for generations.
