Contemplation #1, #2, #3 (2021-2024) - World Premiere (only #2)
Contemplation #2 is taken from Contemplations, a collection of pieces for piano and vocalising pianist. Composed between 2021 and 2024, this collection explores different meanings of the word “alone”, whether feeling isolated, unseen, yearning for a meaningful connection, or finding enjoyment in your own company.
The human voice represents our truest feelings, those which are often suppressed by the noise of daily life. Using the pianist’s voice draws attention to this important part of ourselves and serves as a reminder of the delicacy of the human experience.

Quietly (2019)
A tear drops
on dried leaves
From that day
when my father’s ash—
lighter than paper—
went up to the distant sky
The longing
that does not dry
lives in my chest
“How can I live without you, dad?”
I asked him once.
“Do not think that way.”
He said.
My father
lives quietly
in my heart
Love soaks
dried tears.
