Most golfers chase positions. I’ve become more interested in the movement and control that organize them. The golf swing isn’t just power. It’s pressure. Stability. Rotation. Rhythm. Golf is a dance. And like any great movement, it’s built from the ground up. The more I study movement, the more I see how important organization, timing, balance, and coordination really are. Not just the ability to create force… but the ability to control, transfer, stabilize, and sequence it efficiently. Not because there’s one perfect swing… but because elite players move with incredible consistency and grace within their own patterns. As a coach, I believe I need to understand these concepts deeply first — so I can make them simple, practical, and usable for the athletes I work with. Understand. Apply. Day 1 of 21. Rebuilding my own movement quality as I work toward becoming a BASE coach. No load. No speed.Just control. And it exposed a lot. I cramped in a simple position—not because something “wasn’t firing,” but because I couldn’t organize and control it properly. The difference wasn’t effort… it was how I applied it. What stood out most to me was the coaching. Calm. Precise. No overcorrection.Just better input. I’m documenting this to hold myself accountable. This is the level of work I’m committing to as a coach. It starts with how we interact with the ground. Two variables shape everything: time and relationships. Relationships create opportunity, truth, and growth. They expose us to what we need. But relationships require time. And time… we often take for granted. This course began nine years ago. It required time. It required belief. It started with my wife @drcbac_base offering : peace, trust, love and time to sit with this idea of @__b.a.s.e . Intentional time with the information, to be creative to create a way of thinking. This time allowed for the growth of relationships that became family @casey.performance , @romerok.r and @dstrych my Brothers Built through work, trust, and shared experiences. This course is no different. It’s about time and relationships. Intentional time with the foot and ankle. Relationships between structure and function. This is where movement begins. The truth? You probably don’t need an MRI for that injury from your high school glory days. You probably need to change how you train…or start training consistently in the first place. The truth is, you need a coach and a clinician on your performance care team who can respectfully call you out…and stop you from waiting 8 months for imaging when there are no red flags 🚩🚩🚩🚩 suggesting anything sinister. You don’t need more waiting. You need better understanding. Rotation tells the truth. It exposes which subsystem is not doing its job because you’ve neglected it. And yes most of the time, your neural subsystem is part of the problem. But it doesn’t need more noise it needs the right dose, at the right time. Stop waiting for answers that aren’t going to change the outcome. Start doing the work. PS: If your MRI is booked for 2027… we should probably chat. . #stopthetomfoolery #MSK #sportsinjury

Yo' my fellow Coaches & Clinicians Talus It's like uhh You know uhh Sweet, sweet Sweet (Talus) If your understanding of the talus is limited to: 1. A hinge joint 2. Motion in the sagittal plane (dorsiflexion - plantarflexion) …it’s time to expand the lens. The talus is far more than a simple hinge. It’s a multi-planar adapter integral to how the lower limb organizes, absorbs force, and transitions into propulsion. Its relationship with the tibia, calcaneus, and midfoot drives rotational mechanics that directly influence movement quality, efficiency, and injury risk. If we’re only coaching or treating in the sagittal plane, we’re missing the conversation happening in the transverse and frontal planes where real-world movement lives.
