Hello and welcome to Bashra Aesthetics 👋🏼 I am Fatima, a GP and aesthetic doctor based in Bristol. I founded Bashra Aesthetics after having my own skin issues, with acne hitting me hard in my late 20s. It knocked my confidence and got me down and was not something I expected, having gone through teenage years unscathed. That’s when I began to look into skincare and learn more about the science behind it, and found a new area of medicine and science that I truly loved. That paired with long hours in the NHS and a less than ideal rota set up as a junior doctor, pushed me to rethink my career path. After leaving my training post as an Obs and Gynae doctor, I took some time reevaluate my goals and decided to retrain as a GP alongside starting my new career in aesthetics… and although skin is what got me interested the field initially, I have since found a passion for the injectable side of aesthetics and love to combine the two when creating treatment plans for my patients as this multi-modal approach often leads to the best results! Patient safety and quality of care have always been a top priority and I did not just want to set up “another” aesthetics business. I made sure to undertake the highest level of training there is, and went on to complete a level 7 in injectables and cosmetic dermatology. This qualification took nearly 2 years and ensured I was vigoursly tested in anatomy and practical skills needed to deliver expert care. Getting a Hydrafacial @thetownhouseclinic 📍Bath 🪄💫 Loved every minute of it, from the heated blanket ☀️to the ice globes! ❄️ You start off with a consultation, then depending on which facial package you choose you would have lymphatic drainage, cleansing and exfoliating - the intensity of this can be increased with time by using different “tips”…then this is followed by a peel eg glycolic acid which helps to further exfoliate skin and encourage skin cell turnover to give you that glow✨… then extraction time! This helps with blackheads and clogged pores and is achieved via a soft suctioning motion on the skin… then my personal favourite- Hydralock! 💧💧💧This step essentially locks in moisture in the form of Hyaluronic Acid to boost the skin and it felt AMAZING! Then some time under the Dermalux LED machine 😎which helps stimulate skin cells by delivering specific wavelengths of light resulting in rejuvenation and skin repair, this is then followed by even more skin rejuvenation with the addition of an anti oxidant serum!🤌🏼🪄 I have not felt my skin this bouncy and smooth in a long time! The magic of anti-wrinkle injections 😍💉🪄✨ These results speak for themselves! Although we use anti-wrinkle injections to primarily target dynamic lines (those we see on expression), we can also see a huge improvement in static lines (those found at rest), as we have with this patient 😍 These photos were taken 2 weeks apart, but you’ll likely see results kicking in sooner! The friendly (& tired) face behind the 111 GP call back you get 😴🙃😅 A little BTS of the other side of things when you go through 111 and get an out of hours GP call 🩺 Working in out of hours has its own set of challenges compared to daily GP life… we are calling patients we have never met before and with limited access to notes and information… and to top it off most of the calls are to do with urgent things (hence out of hours) that often need timely decision making…😮‍💨 This in turn means added risk and pressure to get things right… oh and did I mention that most of this decision making is made over the telephone, meaning the huge amount of information that we as doctors gather just by looking at someone (“the end of the bed-o-gram”) is no longer there 😅🙃 If you have ever gone through to a GP via 111, have you had a good experience? 👇🏼 #nhs #ooh #outofhoursgp #gp #urgentcare #nhs111
