Thanks to everyone for the support throughout this journey! We're waiting for the wind in our favor and should be Tybee bound in a few days. If you want the full version of the excursion... stay tuned! #Can'tWaitToThankOurSponsors @GeorgiaCoastCharters @Tybee_Marina @Tybee_Island_Marina @BubbaGumbos

Ok. So we did this shit and we did it in 12 days. Between this and all the little things fixed while cruising the last three months the Buzzard is better then she has ever been before. New fuel tank, New paint top to bottom and most importantly of all, no more rot! Absolute marathon of a boatyard visit. #woodenboat #woodboat #housework #sailing #boatyard #boatyardlife #trimaran #bluewater #searunner #searunner40 #drbuzzard @lostlocal @bennettbacon

From the gulf stream to the hill in the matter of hours. Not bad. Happy to be up here but we have limited time to get a tremendous amount of work done. WARNING. Dr. Buzzard is a wooden boat. Worse then that she’s a plywood boat. When we bought her we had some substantial repairs to do before calling her seaworthy again. In the last couple of years we’ve cut out spots on the deck and glassed in new wood where rot had taken hold. Replaced portholes and wood around em that had gotten wet. We even replaced one bench in the cock pit and half of the other. Damn wood boat life. Always something. Either way we’ve gotten used to cutting large wholes In our boat but for all you boat owners out there ,TRIGGER WARNING. These next few posts will be extremely graphic and some viewers may find some of the photos distressing. #drbuzzard will be going under the knife!

We did manage to find a little bad weather out there. About 50 miles off Canaveral a little thunder storm popped up on the horizon. We reefed the sails and cleaned the decks for whatever was ahead. Good thing to because for about two hours shit hit the fan. Ole Buzzard seemed to love the action but afterwards the wind died completely. Floating in the stream with no wind, 70 something miles from the closest harbor we decided to crank up the main and get moving. We love our little motor but what we really like is to haul ass. We motor to damn slow! After sailing at 10-12knts (going with the stream) consistently for the last 24 hours the 5-6 knt motoring felt like torture but we managed to catch a little breeze in the morning and cruised into St. Augustine for some lunch and…. after a quick change of plans we decided to haul out while there for some much needed time in the boat yard instead of sailing on home to savannah. #sailing #trimaran #searunner40 #cruiselife

A couple shots of us cutting out of the Bahamas on the way back state side. As planned we took our sweet time heading south but not so much on the way home. Luckily with the weather and Gulf Stream working in our favor it felt like a down hill run. #bahamas #sailing #searunner40 #cruising #gulfstream #warpspeed

We walked up on a party after pulling into Little Farmers Cay last night (population about 40 people) and of coarse they invited in for dinner. We had rum punch, conch rice, fried fish, good company and much more. It seems that Bahamians are not only amongst the friendliest people on earth but also, without a doubt, some of the best cooks.

Yea. After four days or five days being here we decided that we had to do it. #pigbeach #bitches. It was fun for a few.

Feeding some of our local strays here in #stanielcay. These #nursesharks are a lot less imposing then the packs of #bullsharks around #Bimini and better trained. You can call these cuties in by tapping on the sides of the boat. Fun to watch and they do a lot to keep the bay nice and clean.

Here’s a few action shots while underway a few days back. Heading south on a stiff breeze, in virtually flat seas. You gotta love it. A quick day sail took us from #shroudcay to #stanielcayexuma. You can see the #olebuzzard with her wing up in the air in that first video. She had that thing out of the water for the better part of forty miles. If you know you know. Not a bad day. #sailing #bahamas #searunnertrimaran #drbuzzard #scanmar #autohelm #exumas #pigbeach #fishing
